Besides the obvious uses like a) eating them, or b) throwing them into your Healthy Mummy Smoothie there are so many great ways to use fruit in your cooking.
Fruit can add a touch of sweetness to a savoury casserole or even a salad. You can bake with it, or even use it to make your own sugar-free jam.
It’s recommended to enjoy 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables each day.
So why not try out some of our favourite fruits and their alternate uses:
Bananas
Chop into chunks and roll in desiccated coconut as a side dish for a home made curry; bake these incredible Carrot Cake Muffins; or freeze into chunks and enjoy as a sweet treat with a smearing of natural peanut butter.
Apples
Add some spices and oats and make these delicious Baked Apples as a sweet dessert; or try them as a way to add sweetness to this Pumpkin Soup or Beetroot Soup.
Oranges
