As a busy mum, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with having to prepare a healthy lunchbox every day for the kids.
But before you reach for the processed sugary snacks from the supermarket, try some of these ideas.
The best part is, they can all be made in advance (why not double the recipe so you have plenty!) and then stored away in the freezer.
1. Coconut and Date Balls
Just two ingredients are needed for these sweet and delicious bliss balls. Add some lemon or orange zest for extra flavour.

For a healthier muffin sweetened with fruit instead of sugar, this is a great option. Feel free to mix the fruit up depending on what you have to hand.

With a bit of an Anzac biscuit vibe, this healthy slice uses up your pantry staples for a tasty morning tea.

6. Wholemeal Banana, Date and Apple Bread
With no added sugar, oil, nuts or eggs – this healthy loaf still manages to taste fantastic. Banana bread from the supermarket or café often contains around 5 teaspoons of sugar per slice, so this is a much better option.

7. Ricotta Pikelets
Store bought pikelets usually contain sugar, white flour and preservatives. These healthy pikelets are a much better option. Once cooked, allow to cool and then freeze 3-4 as a single serve in plastic wrap without the topping. They taste great as is.

9. Healthy Hummus Dip
Just 4 ingredients is all you need for this healthy nut free dip. Simply freeze in ice cube trays, then pop a frozen cube or two in a plastic tub, along with some crackers or carrot sticks. The dip will be defrosted by morning tea time.
