healthy_eatingAustralia and New Zealand are well known globally for having an active lifestyle, and enjoying fresh and healthy food on the BBQ.
But it’s worth looking to other countries as well for some healthy lifestyle tips that you can take on board.
Today we have a look at some of the healthy habits that might just be worth importing.

India – Heat

Eating a diet rich in thermogenic spices means that your core temperature is raised which can increase your metabolism and fat burning capabilities.
But you don’t need to rush out to your local take away. Healthy Indian food is simple to prepare at home, once you have the right spices in your pantry. Think garam masala, turmeric, chilli, cumin and ginger.

Brazil – Beans

The Brazilians are big fans of the legume, with many of their traditional dishes containing low fat, fibre rich beans.
Fibre is important for weight loss as it keeps you feeling full. Think kidney beans, chickpeas, butter beans and lentils.

France – Portion Control

The French relationship to food is all about balance. Nothing needs to be off the menu, so you can enjoy a treat in moderation.
The fact that you don’t feel deprived means that you might even get less cravings as no food is off limits.
There is also a strong relationship to fresh, seasonal produce and good quality ingredients.
Here at Lose Baby Weight we wholeheartedly agree with this philosophy. That’s why we say that it is OK to enjoy your favourite foods, in moderation, without the guilt.

Thailand – Herbs and Spice

Many Thai dishes use fresh herbs and spices to add flavour. These pack a punch in the flavour department without the need for things like butter or excessive cream. Think chilli, lemongrass, basil, coriander, garlic and ginger.
It’s best to go for fresh stir fries, noodles, fish and lean proteins and minimise the often creamy curries that can be sweetened with sugar.

Netherlands – Fish

The Dutch diet consists of a lot of fresh seafood, and with good reason. It’s packed with heart healthy omega-3’s which are critical for good health – but the body can’t create them.
Enjoying fish 2-3 times per week is also a great way to cut down on other meats which can often be higher in fat.
