Hi everyone, I hope you’ve all had a positive week. This week I thought I’d talk about the importance of having support from family and friends while being on the Lose Baby Weight plans.
This week, hubby, bub and I went for dinner at my sister in law’s house. She’d invited us the week before. I was hesitant at first, not knowing what would be served and deviating from my eating plan. I was trying to think of ways to overcome these unknown obstacles, such as only eating half of my meal if the serving size was too big or refusing dessert, saying that I was too full. On the other hand, I didn’t want to offend her either.
I voiced these concerns to my other half and he just smiled. “She’s got you covered,” he said. It turns out that she had already been researching meals from the Lose Baby Weight website to cook!
lose_baby_weightShe, along with my close family and friends, knows that I am following the Lose Baby Weight 28 Day Plan and factored that in to make me feel comfortable and make sure that I stuck to the healthy eating habits I’m used to! I was blown away that she would take the time to do that for me. She was happy to do it as she is a healthy eater herself and said she’d had so much fun looking through the recipes for something to cook. So we got to enjoy Low Fat Beef Stroganoff with wholemeal pasta and then Chocolate & Berry Mousse for dessert (pictured). Both meals were delicious!
This got me to thinking about how supportive my family and friends have been since I’ve started on Lose Baby Weight. My friends always ask how my weight loss is going and what kind of meals I’ve been eating. My hubby has been eating the same dinners as me from the 28 Day Plan, Winter Warmer Plan and the Lose Baby Weight website (as I’ve mentioned before, he loves them!) and takes care not to eat any junk food in front of me.
He comes on walks with me, bub and our dogs and takes photos of my exercises and weight loss so that I can put them up on the Lose Baby Weight Facebook page. He even helps me do my measurements on weigh in day each week! My family have been supportive too and have been very complimentary and encouraging about the weight I’ve been losing.
I think having a supportive network around you, even if it’s just one person, is really important. I know I couldn’t have done as well as I have been without the support of all of these people, especially my husband. Having people I know encouraging me every day really helps me to keep on track and not have too many slip ups with unhealthy food. I may be luckier than some people to have such a great support team but if you tell others what you are doing and how they can help you, I’m sure there would be a friend or family member that would be willing to help, encourage and motivate you along the way. It really helps!
I’ve still being having a daily Healthy Mummy smoothie for breakfast and enjoying a variety of meals from the website and the 28 Day Plan. My favourite smoothie this week was the Mango and Passionfruit Smoothie and my favourite meal from the 28 Day Plan was the Fish with Spinach and Tomato. Hubby’s favourite meal this week was the Turkey Burgers from the Husband Friendly Meals recipe section on the website.
My results this week were:

  • Weight: 76.6kg, down 0.4kg. This seemed so small compared to last week’s big loss of 1.7kg but it’s still a loss!
  • Bust: 96cm, same
  • Waist: 84.5cm, up 1cm
  • Hips: 105.5cm, same
  • Thighs: 63.5cm, down 1.5cm

It’s mid way through the month and so far I’ve lost a total of 3.2kg for August and 8kg since starting with Lose Baby Weight in June! The photo attached shows the change so far. I’m hoping to lose a bit more before the month is over but I couldn’t be happier with my progress so far. Once again, thank you Lose Baby Weight for helping me to change my life one day at a time!
Next week my goals are to:

  • Increase my water intake. I have been slack keeping track of how much water I drink each day and I know it’s not enough.
  • Get my bike out of the shed and go for a ride. My poor bike has been in hibernation for a good couple of years and I’d love to mix up my exercise by including a bike ride or two now that the weather is starting to warm up.
  • Use my calorie bible again to come up with some new snack/recipe ideas. I did this a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed using the information in there to change my snacks for the week. Every time I read it, I learn something new regarding calories and healthy eating.
