It’s a great way to get your recommended daily amounts of calcium and protein, and it also tastes great.
While there are many different types of yoghurt, some good ones for weight loss are Greek yoghurt, or natural yoghurt.
They tend to have less added sugar than the fruit flavoured or ‘low-fat’ or ‘non-fat’ yoghurts.
But if you are at a loss for ways to get yoghurt into your healthy eating plan, look no further…

21 Ways To Use Yoghurt:
  1. For breakfast with a sprinkling of oats, nuts or honey
  2. Mixed with muesli instead of milk
  3. As a snack with some fresh blueberries or chopped kiwi fruit
  4. As an alternative to cream on top of pancakes or scones; added to soups; in dishes such as stroganoff or curry
  5. As an alternative to mayonnaise in recipes like coleslaw, potato salad or curried egg
  6. As an alternative to sour cream: dollop on top of a jacket potato; or add it to your guacamole.
  7. As a sauce for your salmon: mix yoghurt with lemon juice and capers and drizzle over your cooked salmon
  8. As a salad dressing: mix with some olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard and salt and pepper

  10. Use as a pizza base! Pop some Greek yoghurt onto your pizza base, then top with roasted vegetables and cheese before cooking in the oven for 10 minutes.
  11. As a marinade for chicken: simply add some spices such as garlic, chilli, cumin, and paprika to a cup of yoghurt. Pour it over your chicken and allow to marinate for at least an hour, then grill.
  12. As a cool down for spicy food: mix yoghurt, mint, diced cucumber and salt and pepper
  13. As an apple pie snack, mix natural yoghurt with some grated apple, cinnamon and a tablespoon of LSA.
  14. Add it to porridge for a creamy texture
  15. Mix with a teaspoon of real peanut butter (made with 100% peanuts) for a deliciously nutty treat
  16. Whiz up some yoghurt and banana and then freeze in ice cube trays. Nibble on one when you feel like a sweet treat
  17. Mix it with some good quality cocoa for a chocolate pudding-type dessert

  21. Last of all, one you might not have heard of. Use it to make a healthy chocolate icing! Melt half a cup of choc chips in a glass bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Add to half a cup of Greek yoghurt that has come to room temperature. Mix well and then use as you would chocolate icing. Delicious!
