Since April 2015 I have lost 23kg using The Healthy Mummy 28 Day Challenges, Healthy Mummy smoothies, recipe books, and the Post Pregnancy Exercise DVD. All while being a stay-at-home mum to my two daughters, aged 1 and 2.

June is my new start.
I have let my daughter’s birthdays, Easter, and a few other events drag me towards old habits – but not anymore! It is time to treat my body like a temple again and The Healthy Mummy has given me all the tools to do it.
I have created a new exercise schedule for myself with set days of resistance training, cardio, challenge exercises, and stretching sessions, so I can tick them off on a daily basis instead of making up excuses. And I should have no excuses – if the weather is bad there is always the DVD!
To ensure I don’t go reaching for quick, unhealthy foods, I will be preparing and freezing meals and snacks over the next few days so I am set for any unexpected event.
For my meals I have chosen winter-hardy foods, such as the Lamb, Tomato and Bean Soup, Chicken, Chickpea and Celery soup, and the Pumpkin Soup from the Winter Cookbook, and Beef Burgundy Stew from the May Challenge.
For snacks I have gone for my all-time favourites; Coffee and Date Slice and Chocolate Fudge Bites from the Guilt-Free Chocolate Cookbook, Almond and Cacao Fudge and Cookie Dough Bliss Balls from the challenge recipe hub, and Caramel Cheesecake Bliss Balls from the website.

On the challenges you have a weekly meal plan that you can customise to meet your family’s needs and it is so easy to cook many of the meals in larger batches to freeze perfectly portioned meals from the leftovers. I prefer doing this over buying frozen meals as it works out cheaper and you know what is in your meal – you won’t be feasting on excessive amounts of sugar or sodium. Perfect for those cold winter nights when you can just reheat a hearty dinner for yourself or the family!
The challenge exercises are the perfect quick yet highly effective workout. The HIIT workouts have some serious bang for your buck and the flexibility to do them as set out or to use the alternative suggestions if you are a beginner or recovering from any physical or post-birth complications. In as little as 30 minutes a day (or three smaller segments if you are short on time), you get an effective workout with a mix of cardio, toning, and resistance all in one. The Pilates workouts are also great for strengthening your core post-baby.
These exercises have taught me that you don’t have to spend hours lapping the block or at the gym to achieve great results. And you definitely don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on equipment.

We are all there working towards the same goals and to support everyone without judgement.
