Motivating Mum Kat Brown has been following the Lose Baby Weight healthy eating plans for the past 12 months and has lost 25kg.
Today she has written in with her healthy snack ideas for when you are out and about.
“Over the weekend I went camping for a wedding and I thought that I would share my top 10 healthy snacks to take with you when camping or when you are out and about.
When travelling it can often be hard to think outside of the box as to what you can snack on while travelling and with limited refrigeration or if you are in a rush to get out the door. I get alot of my snack ideas from the Calorie Bible.

Raw Nuts

These are a fantastic snack to take with you anywhere really as they don’t need to be refrigerated, you can take them basically anywhere and they are so so good for you.  You can read more about the health benefits of nuts here.

Roasted Chickpeas

These are loved by all of our family (adults and kids) and are super easy to prepare in large batches and make for a perfect snack as they are full of protein and fibre to help you feel fuller for longer.  Our kids love salt and vinegar flavor and we love them with a bit of kick to them. You can see a recipe here

Microwave Chips

These are always a hit as they feel so naughty! I make sweet potato ones for me and a combination for the kids and hubby, everybody loves them.  you can see the recipe here

Veggies

Pre chopped veggies are always a hit. I normally have carrot and celery and keep them in the esky in zip lock bags or straight from the fridge to my handbag

Tinned Fish and Crackers

Tinned fish is full of omega 3’s and protein ( helping to keep you fuller for longer) and is super easy to chuck in your handbag with some wholemeal crackers for a nutritious snack

Fruit

Fruit is the ultimate grab and go snack full of nutrients and delicious too!

Air Popped Popcorn

Easy to prepare and coming in at only 31 calories per 1 cup of plain air popped popcorn, how can you go wrong?!  You can see some different flavours to try here

Bliss Balls

These are easy to prepare and super delicious (as well as being nutritious) You can see some recipes here

Homemade Salsa and Crackers

Easy to pre-prepare and take in an airtight container to eat with some seaweed crackers. You can see a recipe here

Muffins

I love muffins either sweet or savory and they can be pre-prepared and frozen in portion sizes making them super easy to grab when on the run
Hopefully you can use some of these yummy snack ideas for the next time you head out camping or when you are rushing out the door xx”
