Mum, Linda Hallas has been following the Lose Baby Weight healthy eating plans and has lost 40kg.healthy_canadian_turtle+chocolates  Today she has sent in her mouth watering healthy recipe based on a Canadian Chocolate.  You can read Linda’s latest update here.
“These are my healthy take on a Canadian chocolate called Turtles! My husband who is Canadian says they are better as these are dark 🙂


  • 50 grams of pecans broken into pieces
  • 100 grams 70% cocoa Lindt Chocolate
  • 1 cup of pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup almond milk

(There will be left over caramel) 🙂


  • To make caramel place pitted dates in a food processor and blitz for a couple mins
  • Slowly add the almond milk and scrape the edges down occasionally
  • Continue to blitz until you have a smooth caramel
  • Melt chocolate in microwave in 30 second intervals stirring well each time
  • Place a small spread of chocolate in chocolate mould  -you could use chocolate patty pans or any silicone baking mould
  • Add some broken bit of pecans to each mould
  • Next, add a small dollop of caramel to the pecan and then top with melted chocolate
  • Refrigerate until set

Don’t eat them all!!
If you have left over Caramel enjoy with your favourite chopped fruit for a yummy treat or heat to make into a hot sticky caramel sauce that you could have over some Banana Ice Cream
