When you are trying to lose weight, some days it really can feel as though the universe is not on your side.
You run out of berries for your Healthy Mummy Smoothie, it starts to rain as you go to take your walk, your husband steals the last apple, and the kids decide to throw a tantrum while you try to do a healthy shop.
So what are we to do when we feel as though we should just give up? Fight back, of course!
Today we have 8 ways to turn the mojo back in your favour, and keep you focused on your goals.  8 Top Tips To Kick Start Your Mojo

1.  Be ready for anything

Yes, that’s right – be prepared. Sure you might only be popping down to the park for half an hour, but still take healthy snacks and water in your bag just in case your car breaks down or the wheels fall off your pram. It happens!
Also why not wear your trainers in case the opportunity for a few stairs sprints comes up while the kids play in the sandpit.

2.  Keep the kitchen well stocked for when hunger strikes

Nothing derails your weight loss plans like a hungry belly. Somehow all reason goes out the window and we find ourselves reaching for the sugary biscuits or a handful of sweets.
By always knowing in advance what you are going to have for all of your meals and snacks you will never fall victim to the terrible ‘hungries’.
That also means you need to keep the fridge stocked with milk, and the freezer full of bananas and berries so that you can grab a Healthy Mummy Smoothie.
That way you can always have a smoothie if your meal plans get cancelled or someone else eats the leftovers you were going to have for lunch.
Keep plenty of healthy snacks within easy reach – think almonds, dates, yoghurt, berries, veggie chips and healthy muffins.

3.  Make sure your blender is always clean and within easy reach

Nothing makes you want to reach for a stack of buttery toast like the sight of yesterday’s dirty blender in the sink. Get into the habit of always washing up your blender as soon as you’ve made your smoothie. That way it is always ready to go.
If you have enough room in the kitchen, try to keep it on the bench too so that you don’t have to lug it in and out of the cupboard every day.

4.  Say yes to help (even if you don’t feel like you need it now)

If a friend or relative has offered to cook you a healthy meal or mind the kids while you do some exercise, say yes!
Even though you might not feel busy or stressed right now, it pays to have some healthy meals in the freezer and some exercise done – just in case tomorrow the kids are ill or the washing machine breaks down.

5.  Shop online to avoid all manner of supermarket related tantrums

There are simply no aisles for your child to have a meltdown in – bliss!
It also means you won’t get suckered into the dazzling display for 2 for 1 potato chips or half price chocolate.
Buying online means you can make your purchases with a level head and within a specific budget (and you can even wear your PJ’s if you like).

6.  Don’t let the weather dictate your exercise

A few storm clouds in the sky can make you feel as though a walk or jog is out of the question. And that’s fine, but you need to make sure you have a backup plan.
An exercise DVD is a great plan B for these times. You can work up a sweat in the comfort of your own home while you hope for a sunnier day tomorrow.

7.  Have some one liners up your sleeve for Aunt Gladys

These are great for when a well meaning friend or relative tries to hand you a cake/biscuit/cream bun. So often when you are trying to lose weight other people can find it difficult to accept that you don’t want to eat what they are eating.
Something as simple as ‘no thanks, I’m not hungry, I’ve just had a banana’ can suffice if you don’t want to go into too much detail.

8.  Eat before you go anywhere near a child’s birthday

When the table is laden with colourful treats and sweets, it can be hard to stop at just one. So take the edge off by having a healthy snack before you hit the party, so that you aren’t ravenous. Think yoghurt, a handful of nuts, or a banana.
