Hi everyone, I’m Kirsty and I’m one of your Motivating Mums this month. Before I started my Lose Baby Weight journey I weighed 140kg and couldn’t look at myself in the mirror. I cried everyday and ate my emotions away, but all I really wanted was to lose weight and like my own reflection.
I was in fact eating myself to death.
I had my gall bladder out on 19th January this year and started my weight loss journey with Lose Baby Weight. I started having the Healthy Mummy Smoothies for breakfast and lunch, and my snacks and dinner were from the monthly challenges.
I have lost 32kg so far and want to lose another 38kg.
The Healthy Mummy has changed my life so much. I can actually keep up with my children on walks or at the park. It has not only changed my lifestyle, it has made me a better person and a better mother.
May has been a very, very hard month. My 5 year old daughter suffers from two heart conditions, so she has a very weak immune system. She has suffered twice this month from staph. This means no school and three weeks of antibiotics and counting. Many sleepless nights, days of washing and bathing and keeping three kids separated from her. There were days I’ve survived on little or no sleep and I’ve found myself binging on biscuits at 12am. Crying whilst eating.
But the next day I always got up and made my smoothie. The two smoothies a day has kept me semi-on track instead of eating a pack of Tim Tams and drinking 10 coffees.
I’ve barely exercised, but I find myself squatting 10 times at 3am whilst going to the toilet, or folding washing while doing squats.
May hasn’t been the month I wanted it to be and I’ve missed goals that I wanted to achieve, like running 5km by the end of the month.
But the greatest thing The Healthy Mummy has taught me is there is always tomorrow. It’s not the end of my journey because I didn’t achieve everything. I can still achieve my goals, it’s just a little longer until I’m there. And I’m okay with that.
Love Kirsty xx
