When following a healthy eating plan or losing baby weight you often have to cut out some of your favourite foods like chocolate spread.
Today we have for you a Healthy Hazelnut Chocolate Spread loved by both kids and adults. We think it’s much tastier than the store brought hazelnut spread, and it’s much healthier too, using healthy oils, sugars and no artificial flavours. Also, sugar is not the main ingredient in this recipe
You can enjoy this spread on:
- Some wholegrain crackers
- On a piece of sour dough
- Sliced apple or banana
- Mixed with some natural yoghurt
- Added to your Healthy Mummy Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup hazelnuts (roasted gives a more nutty flavour)
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder or cocoa
- ½ cup brown rice syrup or raw honey
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted)
- 2-3 tablespoons Almond Milk
Method:
- Place hazelnuts in food processor and process until smooth (this may take up to 10 mins)
- Once hazelnuts are smooth add the rest of the ingredients and process until well combined
Store in a glass jar or air tight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
