Wow, what an AMAZING month November has been!
I was lucky enough to become a motivating mum for Lose Baby Weight, experience new yummy food from the November 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge and celebrated my sons 1st Birthday!
I can’t believe how much my way of thinking has changed these past 3 months. When I went food shopping for my son’s birthday party, I didn’t even think about buying loads of sugar packed junk food like I use to! I opted for lots of fresh yummy fruit and veggie sticks, made the Sweet Chilli Tuna Sushi from the November Challenge and served up some pizzas using the Lose Baby Weight 2 ingredient Pizza base.
The pizza quickly disappeared and the sushi was gone soon after. As the blog How To Reduce The Sugar At A Kid’s Party on the Lose Baby Weight website says “Don’t feel pressured to offer bowls of lollies and chips. If you offer healthy food as the only option, the kids will normally be happy to devour it” – This goes for adults too! I served up the classic fairy bread, but made it a little better for you as suggested in the Healthy Kids Cookbook – which is a MUST if you have kids and/or hosting a children’s party! So many yummy kid friendly food recipes.  I didn’t over indulged, and definitely wasn’t bloated, we were all exhausted by 6pm, but still manage a 6km walk instead of sprawling on the couch feeling sorry for ourselves.
Left overs were fruit and veggie sticks, which didn’t go to waste, the majority of the fruit was frozen, ready to be made into yummy Healthy Mummy Smoothies and the veggie sticks were stored in airtight containers with some water to keep fresh (great idea to save time on snacks during the week or for smoothie prep). Old Katie would’ve opted for the birthday cake sitting in front of her for breakfast the following day, but instead I made myself the Green Pineapple Smoothie. Yum!
28 day
How delicious was all the food from the November 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge, food I usually wouldn’t cook – a few stand outs were Caesar Salad, Roasted Pumpkin Soup, Turkey Meatballs, Chocolate Bliss Balls and Poached Egg Florentine.  My freezer is looking very stocked up again after this challenge, and not full of bad huge serves of food but of healthy delicious filling food. Nothing better than having a freezer full of yummy food, stops that take-away urge when your feeling lazy. I cannot recommend the Freezer Friendly Cookbook enough, you’ll thank me, not only do you save money but your steering clear of the bad food! You’ll be surprised at what you can freeze after following Lose Baby Weight.
I’ve started getting creative with the Healthy Mummy Smoothies, and have enjoyed coming up with new flavour combos. My recent favourite is a Mint Slice Smoothie and it tastes like the Mint Slice Biscuit. So ladies, get creative. You’ll be surprised at what yummy smoothie you’ll create! And don’t forget to share on the Lose Baby Weight Facebook Support Group!
Nearly 3 months following Lose Baby Weight and I’m officially half way to my goal weight!
I can’t believe I’ve lost 13kgs! OMG 13kgs! Here’s to the next 13! My current mini goal is to be in the 70’s by Christmas.
My confidence is soaring, my clothes are baggy and it’s all thanks to Rhian and the Lose Baby Weight team! Well you’re the reason why “I’m dancing in the mirror and singing in the shower”! (Shower, by Becky G).
Hope you’ve all had a fantastic month and have enjoyed the challenge as much as I have ladies! If you’re not a challenge member, definitely consider joining up because you won’t regret it. And if you’re an Ummmer and arhhher like I was 3 months ago, stop it and sign up! I wouldn’t be where I am now if I didn’t.
Keep up the amazing work ladies!
Katie xx
