Hi Mums!
My name is Jess, I’m a 25 year old mum of two, aged 18 months and 5, and I have lost 23kg* with Lose the Baby weight. I have lost this over almost 7 challenges and am now closer to my goal than ever.
I am very excited to be one of the motivating mums for the month of January!
I initially started my Lose Baby Weight journey back in November 2014 when my daughter was a few months old, lost a couple of kgs quite quickly in the first few weeks but due to very little sleep and a lot of trouble with breastfeeding I became lazy and dropped back into my old habits as quick as I’d stopped them.
The weight came on plus a little more and I stayed this way until I photo of myself was taken in May 2015 which brought me to tears. I was 105kgs, the biggest weight I’d ever been and on the border of needing medication for high cholesterol.

I started making my healthy mummy smoothies at the very end of may and used the free recipes online, then decided to join the challenges again at the beginning of June and haven’t looked back! I absolutely love the customizable option of the challenge, currently being a single income family it works a treat to our budget and my family loves the food I’m cooking.
I make everything from scratch now, where I was once the packet mix queen. The challenges have taught me so much about portion control and how you can make healthy meals quickly and easily.
Although I don’t currently follow the exercise from the challenge, I am lucky enough to be a gym member with a crèche and attend a few classes every week. I also enjoying walking and have taken up running again.
Lose Baby Weight has also taught me that you can’t out exercise a bad diet- something I wish I understood a few years back!
I absolutely love the support from the facebook group, this was my starting point.
The motivation, seeing so many reaching their goals and the how no one judges each other. I was very scared to post my flashback after I’d lost 14kgs and got nothing but love!
I’d also like to add that my husband started the challenges with me back in June and has lost 30kgs* and is now in the healthy weight bracket for his height, a lot fitter, healthier and most importantly happier.
Something we both share. I hope I can inspire others to start, continue or maintain their journey during the month of January and smash my own personal goals…
