Deb Daly has lost over an amazing 11kgs following the Lose Baby Weight Plans and becomes a Motivating Mum for March.debd

Hi lovely Mummas!
My name is Deb and I’m one of the Motivating Mums for March.
I started my weight loss journey with Lose Baby Weight in October last year and to date I have lost 11.3kg! I’m only 156cm short (!!) so every extra kg I was carrying felt like a LOT to me! At first, my goal was to be able to stick to a healthy lifestyle and lose my bloated stomach. Not only did I meet my initial goals I exceeded them, my whole body has changed, my knowledge of food has changed, I’ve lost more weight than I thought I could and I now have more energy and a love of myself I never thought possible.
Once I got the hang of my new healthy lifestyle, (and got through the holiday festivities!) I was ready to step it up a level and take on the January 28 Day Challenge. I loved it!! There are literally hundreds of new and ridiculously easy recipes to make for the family and they taste so yummy, you just have to marvel at how they can be healthy!! The challenge exercises really get the job done in about 20 minutes each day, and that suits so many of us busy mums!!
Along the way I have found the The Healthy Mummy & Lose Baby Weight Support Group to be one of the biggest motivational tools to keep focused, accountable and committed to becoming a healthier version of myself no matter how slow the progress at times. It is also in this group that I met my ‘buddies’ – without a doubt buddies make the journey so much more enjoyable!
Celebrating the highs and working through the lows with other mums, makes you feel part of a team and my buddies have certainly kept me positive! If I can motivate you in some way with this introduction blog it would definitely be to find people in the group to “buddy” up with during your journey. If you are unsure where to start, look in the file “Where are we from” on the Facebook Support Page. (Having said that, my buddies do not live near me at all – instead we just made contact after seeing each other’s posts on the support page and found our journeys are similar.)
Since the challenge ended I have learnt to use my Lose Baby Weight knowledge to continue to make healthy food and exercise choices in the non challenge month (Feb). I have always had a bit of a recipe addiction so I’ve definitely stayed motivated trying new recipes from the website, the Guilt Free Chocolate Treats & Baking Cookbook, the Healthy Kids eCookbook and the Christmas and New Year Healthy eCookbook… so far!
I also try and keep things simple. I have my favourite Healthy Mummy Smoothie if I need breakfast on the go (similar to the “snickers smoothie”) and I make meals in bigger quantities – for the family to have a couple nights in a row or for lunch the next day. If you haven’t tried San Choy Bow, Chilli Con Carne, the slow cooker Chicken and Mushroom Curry, or the Dark Choc and Strawberry Parfait (yes that last one’s a dessert!) then please put them on your list ladies!! Planning ahead means less chance of slipping up and eating unhealthy.
Lose Baby Weight has helped change not only my physical appearance but also my mindset. I no longer dwell on the past and see my flaws; instead I choose to see the positives! Whilst my weight loss is slowing I am still motivated to maintain my healthy lifestyle and enjoy the best version of myself I’ve achieved in my adult life. I believe it is important to take time to enjoy our journey and celebrate our successes.
I am honoured to be a Motivating Mum and hope I am able to help others realise their achievements they may not have known and empower others to keep moving towards their goals – be it at a cracking pace or slow and steady (like me) because any step forward is worth the effort.
Be excited ladies, you have made the decision to make a change – and no matter where you are on your weight loss journey or how far you have to go  – be kind to bodies and enjoy each day that your are becoming a better version of yourself!!
