Naomi’s Update & 7.5kg Weight Loss

Hello ladies, The past fortnight has been a little challenging, my baby boy decided to self ween at 6 months, he now only wants formula- this as a result of us both being sick. So emotionally i have been feeling a little down about this. I am happy that I made it to 6 months though, as breastfeeding was not something that was easy for me.
My son is sleeping much better as a result of the formula so I am happy about that!
When I got over my flu I decided to go for a shopping trip and try on some clothes, I was pleasantly surprised to fit into size 12 clothes! I even bought a new dress and felt so confident when I tried it on. Buying clothes and trying them on is a new thing for me, I now use it for motivation and for rewarding my hard work! I am proud to say that I am now smaller than I was on my wedding day, still 2.5 kgs off my goal weight and pre baby weight. But im slowly getting there on the Lose Baby Weight plans.
Another milestone moment for me this week was getting all my “pre baby number 2” clothes out, and putting the maternity clothes away. It felt so good to put on my old jeans and have them actually feel loose on me.
SaladI have also been to a couple of BBQ’S this week and had to face my first challenge of choosing the right foods to eat. I already decided I was going to bring along a salad to the BBQ, I chose the Mediterranean Haloumi Salad from the spring and summer cookbook. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it, i have decided that it is now my favourite healthy mummy recipe! I had a lot of people comment on my weight loss this week and it really helps motivate me more, knowing that all my hard work is not going unnoticed.
Every Day this week i have enjoyed making different healthy mummy smoothies and tried new things like adding spinach to my smoothie. I am looking forward to experimenting more with the different smoothie recipes from the 28 day meal plan and Spring & Summer cookbook.
Exercising this week has been really enjoyable; I take 30 minutes every day to ride the bike at home. I enjoy having this time for myself and challenge myself to go further every day.
After the bike I usually do the exercises from the 28 day meal plan, but this week I got the Healthy Mummy Post Pregnancy Exercise DVD and am really enjoying the work outs.
I do it in the lounge room with both my children watching, my 2 year old does some of it with me. He finds it really fun to watch me and join in. I love how the DVD has sectioned off workouts that are 10-15 minutes long. This makes working out easy to juggle around the kids. I find i can fit one 15 minute workout in the morning, one in the afternoon and one at night.
DVDI am loving trying all the different recipe’s from the lose baby weight website and the spring & summer cookbook. I
t’s exciting to try new meals and know that what i am eating is healthy. My husband is also getting excited to try new meals, and he has been really great in supporting me through this journey.
Today I weighed myself (I weigh every fortnight) I was pleasantly surprised to see that i am currently sitting at 70.5kgs; this is a loss of 1.5kg in 2 weeks.
I am so excited this is a total of 7.5kgs lost so far. I am feeling more motivated than ever before, I’m ready to smash through these last 2.5kgs and get to my goal weight.
My goals for the next fortnight are to:

  • Try different smoothie recipe’s every day.
  • Drink more water as this has been my downfall.
  • Do some toning exercises every day and continue with my 30 minute bike sessions.
  • Do more toning of my upper arms, this is my main problem area.

Current measurements

  • Weight: 70.5kgs down 1.5kgs and 7.5kg in total
