As we all know the best way to lose weight is the way that you enjoy. We got to thinking about triatholons because we have a friend who is in the middle of training for her first one and she recently declined a dinner invitation as she had a massive bike ride planned the next morning.
And given the yummy dinner and wines she knew was on offer, that’s dedication!
But she does it because she loves it. It makes her happy to see how much fitter she is, how much further she can run or swim or ride. Personally, it’s not our thing, but that doesn’t mean YOU might not fall in love with it.
It’s awesome for getting you lean enough to lose tummy fat, I’ve never seen an overweight triathlete, have you? So if you want to shift those stubborn pounds, you love pushing your boundaries and really enjoy the idea of competing, this could be what you’re looking for.
But be very careful as this may be a step that can potentially change your life… for the better! Everyone has a different reason for doing a triathlon. There’s all ages and fitness levels, from the beginner to the super athlete.
Here’s the basics of what you need to know…

- Learn how to ride (get the right bike)
- Learn how to run (efficiency is the key)
- Understand transition (between the swim/bike and then the bike/run)
- How to wave and smile when you pass the finish line!
- Make sure you eat well and have plenty of healthy foods for energy – the Healthy Mummy Smoothie will be an ideal protein boost post workout to help your muscles repair
