PineappleBeat the stomach bloating with these foods – top 10 foods to include in your diet to beat bloating and lose tummy fat on the lose baby weight plans
Foods that are bitter or high in fibre are especially helpful in reducing stomach bloat, as they aid in digestion and help to clear the bowel.
These are our Top 10 foods to include in your diet to reduce bloating and lose stomach fat

Rocket

A great bitter green to help stimulate bile production. Bile helps to break down and digest fatty foods, leaving you with a flatter tummy. Also known as Arugula,  this powerful herb also aids in detox and also promotes hydration.

Dandelion greens

These guys are bitter as well, but they help in cleansing your liver, reducing inflammation and reducing gas. If you can’t stomach them on their own, try adding some to a green smoothie with some ginger and pineapple.

Pineapple

Pineapples contain the super proteolytic enzyme bromelain.  Bromelain is a natural digestive aid, especially helpful in breaking down protein – leaving you with a flatter tummy faster. It is normally found in the juice and the stems of the pineapple so you will still gain some benefits by adding pineapple to your green smoothie! ‘The healthy mummy’ smoothies also contain 5mg of Bromelains to give you a head start!

Papaya

Papaya is a tropical fruit and contains the digestive enzyme, papain. Papain,  is used like bromelain to break down proteins, as mentioned above. Papain is great for repairing tissues and is an anti-inflammatory. Add some to your next fruit salad to reduce the bloat!

Baby Spinach

High in fibre and phytonutrients, spinach is a great food to help reduce bloating by helping to bulk up the stool. If you feel bloated from eating too many raw greens, feel free to cook your baby spinach with your eggs and mushroom omelette instead.

Pears

Exceptionally high in fibre, pears are a great ‘on the go’ food, which can easily be stored in your handbag or office fridge. A pear contains around 6.9g of fibre which is almost a third of your total daily needs. Be sure to include a pear a day on your meal planner whilst trying to lose some tummy fat.

Prunes

Ok the last high fibre food.. but too good to leave off the list. Did you know you can store up to 5kg of excess waste in your bowels? Prunes are so beneficial to ease constipation as they contain sorbitol – a stool softening agent., therefore they reduce stomach bloat. Don’t eat more than 3-4 at a time though, as they can add up in calories very fast.  Also avoid drinking prune juice as you’ll need twice as much as eating them unprocessed meaning too many excess calories.

Ginger root

Relieves gas and calms the digestive tract. Gingerols in ginger are also effective pain relievers, which makes them useful in fighting the abdominal pain that often accompanies bloating. Lucky for us the brains at ‘The Healthy Mummy’ have added some ginger extract to their yummy smoothies!

Lemons

The wonderous detoxifying lemon. From everything to natural laxative to natural hair dye, the lemon is a wonderful citrus that will banish that belly bloat faster than you can say lemon detox. Add a full lemon to a glass of warm water in the morning to start your day sexy and trim!

Greek Yoghurt

Last but not least, include some yummy greek yoghurt on your meal planner for breakfast to help beat the bloat. Probiotic cultures in yogurt such as L. Acidophilus, Bifidus, and L. Casei,  re-populate your gut and help re-balance your digestive system. I like Chobani greek yoghurt as it has twice the protein as some other brands on the market.
This sums up our top 10 foods to beat bloating.. I hope you can incorporate them easily into your daily weight loss diet.
