Superfood. The word itself suggests that it’s a type of food that is super packed with tons of essential nutrients that can greatly benefit our bodies and assist with your lose baby weight plans.
Well superfoods are generally ‘nutritionally dense’ food that has extra health benefits that can come from ‘anti-oxidants’ and ‘phytochemicals’.
The biggest difference between superfoods and regular food is that they contain high levels of vitamins and minerals for the size of the food. For example, 50 grams of almond will have more nutritious values in it compared to the same amount of regular peanuts.
So, to further assist you in your weight loss goals we’ve prepared a short list of superfoods that are also super tasty!
Buckwheat pasta

If you ever have cravings for pasta, try swapping regular pasta with high-fibre buckwheat pasta, and the amazing thing is that this type of pasta also contains protein. The density of fibre and protein in buckwheat also makes our tummies fuller so that we can avoid overeating.
Kale

Often referred to as the ‘queen of the greens’, kale is extremely low in calorie, high in fibre and has zero fat in it. It’s also an amazingly powerful antioxidant and rich in vitamin A, C and K.  A cup of chopped raw kale contains only 34 calories and roughly 1.3 grams of fibre. Include this into your daily weight loss diet plan and start you’ll start seeing a significant difference.
Wild salmon

The tender flesh and texture of wild salmon makes this an incredibly healthy and easy to cook meal. Wild salmon is packed with nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids that help with your weight loss plan and keeps your heart healthy. Cook it with a small dash of salt, pepper and olive oil to get an extremely tasty meal!
Almond butter

If you’re craving for peanut butter or any type of spread on your bread, try using almond butter instead. In comparison to peanut butter, almond butter is significantly higher in calcium, potassium, iron and manganese. It also helps to reduce bread’s glycemic index (GI) to curb the surge of blood sugar levels.
Blueberries
