Hi everyone, my name is Tawhai Duffy and I am one of the Maintenance Mum’s for November.
I am 31 years old and have a daughter who is 3.5 years old. I started following Lose Baby Weight and the 28 Day Challenges in August 2014 and lost 46kgs* in 11 months.

Before finding Lose Baby Weight I was overweight/obese most of my adult life.
I would lose weight give up and it would pile back on with some extra weight to go with it.
I think the reason I have continued this time is because the 28 Day Challenges are so easy to follow with great variety in the meals and exercise, the meals taste fantastic so I don’t miss junk food.
Also the meal plans are easy to customise to suit your family and budget – my daughter has multiple food allergies and issues with textures and my husband works 12hr days 6 days a week and it works for us.
My daughter is even slowly trying more foods and textures from what we are eating, it’s great.

Another thing that has helped to keep me on track is the Healthy Mummy Smoothies, when we have crazy days I can quickly make a smoothie before running out the door.
They are so filling and full of nutrition, there are so many recipes in the 28 Day Challenge Recipe Hub. If you haven’t tried them yet give them a go, they are a lifesaver some days!
When people ask me how I stay on track, I have a few answers:

  • Don’t let bad days or weeks get you down. Just get back to basics drink water, follow your meal plan/eat your calories and exercise
  • Have a motivation outfit/reward so you have something to look forward to and keep you going
  • Take measurements and progress photos, sometimes the scales aren’t our friends
  • Think how much healthier your body is eating nutritious healthy foods even if the scales don’t reflect this change
  • As long as you are trying you aren’t failing
