Hello Healthy Mummies! My name is Tamara and I am a 28 year old working mummy to a busy, active 2 and a half year old boy. For any of you getting to know me for the first time, I have been following the Healthy Mummy 28 Day weigh loss Challenges and using the Healthy Mummy Smoothies since November 2014.
I found The Healthy Mummy when my son was just 9 months old and I came to the realisation that I was far from the mum I had dreamed of being. I wanted to be fun, active, run around at the park with him, and be able to chase after him. But I couldn’t even walk to my mailbox without becoming short of breath!
The Healthy Mummy has literally changed my life. I know everyone says this but it’s true! I have been overweight since I was a teenager. Constantly going on and off fad diets, plateauing and giving up! I am so lucky to have a very supportive family and husband who have always been behind me on every single attempt to lose weight and keep it off.
When I found The Healthy Mummy I weighed 113kgs and was a size 18/20. Although not my biggest weight over my life, it certainly was very restricting and uncomfortable. I am now at my lowest I have been 72kgs and am currently a size 10/12.
These last few months for me have been particularly difficult and I have lost my focus and motivation slightly. This has seen a gain of a few kilos on the scales with me currently weighing 75kgs. I am not sure if it’s because it’s winter, if it’s because I have returned to working full time or because I am missing my husband who currently lives and works interstate.
Even just putting on a few kilos and losing some of my muscle tone, I have noticed a significant difference in how I feel and how my clothes fit. I am starting to feel uncomfortable again and have noticed I am bloated.
I am determined never to return to the unhappy, unhealthy woman I was and I know that with the tools provided by The Healthy Mummy along with the support of the Facebook page, the whole Healthy Mummy Team and my family I will reach my goal.
I have been lucky enough to have been chosen as a Motivating Mum a few times along my journey and it has always helped me to re-focus and be more accountable. I feel so excited and blessed that I have been chosen again to help me to find my own motivation, along with motivating and inspiring thousands of other beautiful women on their journeys.
I can’t wait to share the month of August with you. The Family Friendly Challenge, the Butt, Hips and Thighs Challenge, the last month of winter!
