You have probably heard it before but setting yourself goals is one of the key ways to lose weight.  We all start off full of positivity  – convinced that this time we are going to lose 10 kilos and that we will do it in record time.  But the truth is that long term weight loss takes time and dedication and without small goals along the way the end goal is just too far to be able to constantly reach and hold onto and this is why so many of us fall off the weight loss wagon and give up.

So what sort of goals should we be setting ourselves?  There are lots of different ones we can have and each one will help you stay focussed on losing your baby weight so have a look below and see what goals you can start incorporating into your routine – or create your own;

  • Aim for 500kg – 1kg of weight loss per week
  • Aim to take the stairs not the lift
  • Aim to do 10 sit ups and 10 press ups per day and increase this when it gets too easy
  • Aim to go on one 30 minute brisk walk per day
  • Aim to drink at least 4 cups of decaf green tea per day
  • Aim to drink 2 litres of water a day
  • Aim to stick to your Lose Baby Weight diet and nutrition plan – one day at a time
  • Aim to eat 7 pieces of fruit and veggies per day
  • Aim to not eat any junk food
  • Aim to do some sort of arm exercises or lifting every day such as 10 mini push ups (on your knees to start with)
  • Aim to cut out processed carbs like white bread, white rice and white pasta
  • Aim to do as much incidental exercise as possible and give yourself a pat on the back when you do some

Everyone’s goals will be different and will be dependant on the individual’s lifestyle, problem areas and what habits you need to break.  So make a list of what  goals you are going to set yourself and when you do them each day you will feel a true sense of achievement and continued motivation to get into your skinny jeans and get to your pre pregnancy weight.
