My name is Rachel and I am thrilled to be one of your Motivating Mums for the month of June and I have lost 20kg with Lose Baby Weight.
I am a 27 year old mother of two boys (4 years and 11 months). I have been a bit overweight for my entire adult life, but after my second son was born, I found myself tipping the scales at 94kgs.

In the past I have tried several other weight loss plans and shake diets etc. but nothing really stuck. I had been searching for the right fit for me when I saw a Facebook add for Lose Baby Weight advertising their program.
I decided to take the plunge and I signed up for the 28 Day Weight Loss challenge. It was so good that I have done every challenge since!
I had some great success in January, losing 5 kgs during the challenge. The main thing I loved was how adaptable the meal plan was. I tend to shop for a fortnight at once, so I plan out my meals based on recipes that will freeze well and are easier to cook in larger serves.
Anytime I have tried to lose weight in the past, my poor husband has suddenly found himself starving!
28_day_challengeLose Baby Weight allowed me to choose meals that would suit all of us, as well as easily adapt the servings to suit us.
I would originally change each recipe to 3 servings which was one for me, half a serving for my four year old and 1 ½ servings for hubby. Now I do 4 servings because my baby wants to eat the same as us – any leftovers get put aside for lunch. We all love the food and never go hungry.
The calorie allowance was a real eye opener for me. Having been in the 1200 cal mindset from previous programs, I was more than a little doubtful that I could lose weight eating more than 2000 cals a day.
But guess what? I COULD! I could lose a lot of weight! So far I have lost 20 kilograms and it is all thanks to Lose Baby Weight!

Lose Bay Weight has also given me a healthy relationship with exercise.
I started by doing the challenge exercises and walking the dog most days. I joined a local gym and started going once the kids were in bed. It became a stress relief for me.
I have learned how to run and how to channel my negative energy into something positive. I have learnt that exercise may not always be something I want to do, but it is essential for my physical and mental health.
The clarity I get in my mind after a good workout, especially a run outdoors makes me a better person and a better parent.
healthy mummy smoothiesIt calms me and gives me patience when the kids are being difficult. I have realised that putting the extra work into myself, truly benefits the whole family. I still don’t exercise every day, but it is something I am working to achieve.
I am hoping that being a Motivating Mum will help keep me accountable to my exercise and form the beginnings of a lifelong habit.
So bring on the June & July Challenge! I still have roughly 10 kilos to lose, five of which I am hoping to shake during this challenge. I am slowly creating the best version of myself and would love as many people to join me as possible.
