Hi Mums! My name is Rachel and I have lost 31kgs* with Lose Baby Weight.
This month has been my first month maintaining my weight and I have succeeded. I have seen the scales jump up and down a bit, but still staying steady at around 63 kilograms.
I still need to work on my fitness. I have recently rekindled my love of Kayaking. I am also still doing Parkrun each weekend.
This coming Saturday is pacers week so I am hoping to smash out a new personal best! It is also my birthday so I will be chasing down the 32:30 pacer as a birthday present to myself.

Speaking of birthdays, my husband is taking me to Jamie’s Italian for dinner. I have decided to ignore the calories for the night and just enjoy. I have been looking forward to this since it was announced that the restaurant would be built!
I have had a long lasting, not so secret crush on Mr. Oliver! I am so excited!
Now it is time to get real. I may have reached my goal weight, but I am sure as hell not at the end of my journey.
So my last blog was all about how to get organised on the 28 Day challenges.
In a cruel case of irony, this week I have been anything but organised!
I have slept in, I haven’t exercised apart from one walk with the dog, I have eaten badly, had an anxiety attack about my boy starting prep next year and a few other issues which has put a downer on my moods for the entire week, eaten worse.
I guess I never really realised that I was an emotional eater – I just thought I loved food.

But Tuesday after lunch when I found myself ordering a giant brownie with my afternoon coffee, then scoffing half of it before I went back to my desk so that no one would see me, it all hit home.
I felt bad emotionally so I made a bad food choice to comfort me. Well that was a stumble. It was also an “aha!” moment. I have seen something once that said ‘What you eat in private, you wear in public’. I don’t want to wear brownies again.
I could let this get me down. I could let things spiral out of control. I could put back on every one of the thirty one kilos I have lost.
Alternatively I could bake a healthy treat this weekend. I could wrap it up in portion sizes and stash it in the freezer at work so that if the sads or the sweet tooth hits me in the afternoon, I won’t make a bad choice and undo my good work.
I ate a bought ham and cheese toastie for breakfast this morning when I got to work.
I had hit snooze twice, then woke up to find my bub had been sick/ number three’d in his cot so everything needed washing and he needed a shower.
The time I usually spend making my smoothie was taken up doing that and I allowed myself to use that as an excuse.

I should have chucked the ingredients in the blender before I got bub dressed. Or before I got dressed for the day. But I didn’t, and I recognise now that I was looking for reasons to be lazy.
I pledge to do better tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day after that.
Sometimes we stumble, but with Lose Baby Weight, we never have to fall. I know that this program works. I have seen the results on myself and heaps of other people.
I know that I have thousands of people in the support group who have got my back and are egging me on. I just want to say that I am thankful to every single one of you.
So tomorrow morning I am going to have my smoothie. I’m going to walk my kids to kindy, and if my little one is well enough to be left, I’ll even go to the gym. If he isn’t, I’ll smash out some of the dvd while he naps.
My journey of weight maintenance has just begun.
I have a long road ahead of me to ensure that the habits I have developed over the past ten months truly stick with me with for life.
I know that I can do this with the help of Lose Baby Weight and The Healthy Mummy, Even if I have to jump a few road blocks on the way.
Keep trying, you have got this.
Rachel xx

Hayley says: “I do my own weekly meal plans using the customisable meal plan from the 28 Day Challenge.I love how on Lose Baby Weight our weekly menu has changed from a heavy meat based menu to being vegetarian at least 3 nights a week and then on the nights we do eat meat it doesn’t dominate the meal like it used to.”
