Some nights you have the meat in the house but you’re just not sure what to do with it.
Well here’s a versatile recipe that works with almost any type of meat that you might have on hand.
Today we are using lean pork steaks, but honestly you could use lamb chops, beef steaks, chicken thighs – you name it, this will taste delicious.
Using simple pantry cupboard staples, you can jazz up any meat with this simple, low calorie marinade.
There’s no need to stock up on commercial sauces and marinades – make your own and leave the extra sugars, fats and preservatives behind.
Ingredients:
- 4 lean pork steaks
- 4 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp grainy mustard
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
Method:
- Heat your oven to 180C
- Place all of the marinade ingredients into an oven safe dish.
- Stir to combine and then place your meat of choice in the sauce.
- Ensure the meat gets completely covered on both sides before placing in the oven (or if you prefer, onto the BBQ).
- Most chops or chicken thighs will take around 40 mins in a 180C oven. Turn once half way through.
