Wow I can’t believe my time as a Motivating Mum has come to end. That month has gone so fast!
I have loved every minute of being a Motivating Mum and have received so much support from everyone. It makes me so happy to hear people tell me I’m inspiring and motivating them. That is the best feeling. Knowing I’m helping change someone’s life for the better, just as all the other women have motivated me and changed my life.
I’ve really enjoyed the food from this month’s challenge so much, so I’ve been repeating some of the meals quite a bit, but that also helps with my budgeting and meal planning. I’ve been using my cookbooks a bit too and I have to say I’m loving the Vegetarian cookbook and the Winter cookbook.
The snacks on this challenge have been so yummy and easy to prepare and the best thing is my boys are eating them too rather than buying packaged snacks now.
These past few weeks have been a little tough emotionally with personal things going on in my life, but I’ve turned that into positive energy and worked through the pain using my Healthy Mummy Exercise DVD and boxing at home.
I find if I work out, I’m less likely to eat badly.
I’ve also been unwell the past week and so have the boys, so I made sure I rested my body when needed. It’s so important to look after and listen to your body and rest and not get run down.
I’ve found a new love for clothes shopping this month! I used to dread shopping. Everything I tried on wouldn’t fit right. It would make me look bigger or pregnant or wouldn’t suit my shape. Now, with the 16kgs lost, I’ve gone down 2 dress sizes, going from an XL/size 18 to a Medium/size 14. I can now walk in to a shop, pick up a size 14 and it will fit and look good. I can’t explain what that feels like but it’s the best feeling in the world.
I’ve become more confident in styles of clothes I wear now and colours. I used to live in baggy jeans and black tops, but now I’m wearing tight fitted jeans and brightly coloured tops, and I feel amazing for it. The Healthy Mummy Fashion Support Group has had a big influence on my clothing. It’s so helpful when you’ve never had fashion sense as such.
The biggest thing I have learnt about myself this month is no matter how much the scales don’t budge just keep going, keep doing what you’re doing.
The scales aren’t moving for me. I’m really stuck on a plateau at the moment, but my cm measurements are still dropping and changing, and I can tell my body shape is changing by looking at my progress photos and by how my clothes fit better. It’s easy to get hung up on the number on the scales, but the scales can’t show you your new slimmer body, or how your clothes fit better, or your happiness and confidence growing, or how much fitter and stronger you’re becoming.
I’ve come to realise that for me now my goal is not about a number on the scales or a clothing size. My goal is to be fit, toned and strong whatever size or weight that will be. I will know when I reach my goal by how I’m feeling.
Thanks for all the support and kind words over this month. It really means a lot to me. Just keep on keeping on, one foot in front of the other, slow and steady wins the race.
You’ve got this just as I do.
