Put pen to paper….. Sometimes it’s great to not only think of your goals, but to write them down. Then you can put them on the fridge or mirror so that you can see them and be motivated by them everyday. Set yourself realistic goals…. It’s great to have your final goal weight in mind, but to take that pressure off it’s great to break them down into smaller numbers and rewards along the way eg- I’m going to lose 2kg in the next month and my reward will be to have my nails done. PLAN PLAN PLAN-plan your meals for the week, prepare snacks at the start of the week and freeze so they are handy to grab. You are more likely to stay on track if everything is planned

Motivation

Stop saying I can’t and start saying I can….. We are all guilty of one time or another of coming up with excuses and saying I can’t, truth is if you want it enough you there won’t be any excuse. I’m a busy mum of three and learnt that I had to stop with the excuses to get the results that I wanted

Getting Started

The best way to start your weight loss journey is to get organised, buy your recipe book/smoothies/challenge and set a start date. Make sure you’ve bought all your healthy food and clear out any junk from your cupboard. Also take a before pic and use it as your starting point. Decide that you never want to look like that again.

Motivation

To stay motivated it’s best to see it as a lifestyle change and not sweat the numbers on the scale. Make it about living a healthy lifestyle and the weight loss will follow. If you feel like giving up and going back to your old junky and lazy habits look at your before picture and remind yourself what you don’t want to be.

I found writing down my goals and mini goals were a huge help! It helps keep you on track and motivation in drive. Make sure you keep that list somewhere visible daily- bathroom mirror, fridge, dairy, in the car- wherever. When rewarding yourself please remember this quote! I saw once and it has totally changed my reward system – ‘You are not a dog, do not reward yourself with food.’ Try things like manicures, pedicures, massage, new clothes, jewelry, movies/concert/show etc etc.Give yourself a set and REASONABLE time-frame to achieve your goals

Motivation

I get asked a lot how I stay motivated  and to be honest like everyone else, I do lack motivation sometimes especially when I’m emotionally drained. But, my goals are always in the back of my mind and keeping my goals in view (like on my bathroom mirror or fridge) it reminds me to pull my finger out and get back to work! I think motivation really comes from within as corny as that sounds and will only happen when you are 100% ready to make those changes.Being in the right mindset is 100% key!

My biggest starting out tip is take a before picture. It is amazing to look back on a picture and really see the progress you have made.Get support, whether it be from your husband, a girlfriend, your mum or the amazing women on the Facebook support group. We all need someone to push us, motivate us and help us on our journey. It is so much easier to do with help.If 2014 was unsuccessful for you write down why. Learn from the mistakes you have made and go into 2015 armed with the experiences of the past year, a clean slate and a new determination.Reassess your goals and set rewards for reaching mini steps on your way to your ultimate end goal.

Motivation

Have good, supportive people around you to help push you along if you lose your way.Set goals and reward yourself for reaching them.Keep it interesting. Exercise should be fun and make you feel good. If it starts to become mundane or a chore you won’t want to do it. Mix it up. The same applies to your food, keep trying new things, switch up your menu and keep yourself interested.

Small changes make for big differences! Switch white carbohydrates like pasta, rice and bread for wholegrain varieties. Ditch the soft drink and sugary drinks and make sure you drink 2-3L of water a day. Get sweaty – start with a 15 minute walk each day and steadily lengthen the time you walk for until you feel ready to increase the intensity. To make 2015 successful- Re-evaluate your weight loss/healthy lifestyle goals and decide if they will be relevant for 2015. Ensure that you set goals that are measurable, realistic and achievable; for example losing 20kgs in a month isn’t realistic, but 4kgs is.

Motivation

Be prepared. That doesn’t just mean physically. Write down why you want to make changes. What is making you want to shed the weight? Writing it down can sometimes be the most confronting thing to yourself & also the best motivator to push a little harder.Re-assess your goals. Your calorie needs. Work out how you are going to get exercise done. Meal plan {If on the LBW 28days challenges then this task is basically all done for you} So all that is left to do is tweak, if need be, and then shop! And lastly, enjoy the amazing foods! And, lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Keep things in a realistic perspective. It will help with amount of pressure you put on yourself, as well as also helping you reach goals.

 Motivation

Take your measurements :Waist, hips & thighs. SO important. The scales may not move much or even at all, but your body WILL change. As I said with the photos, your weight can plateau & that is very easy to become down about {guilty of that}. But CMs will shift. Sometimes a lot more than kgs.

Getting Started

I usually sit down and roughly plan my week out every Sunday night. My meal plans and exercise plans are never spot on but I try to follow as best as I can. Do a big cook up once a week and have meals frozen in the freezer for those day where you just cannot be bothered cooking or are in a rush. I have found having meals that I can easily heat up has stopped me from going to my cupboards and binge eating.I have found that exercise is very important Find time throughout the day to slot in some exercise even if it’s a 30minute walk trust me you will feel better for it afterwards.

Motivation

I have found that taking progress pictures and measurements has helped a lot. There have been times throughout my journey that I have gone weeks without losing any weight and felt like giving up. Taking my measurements and progress pictures helped me get through those tough times as the scales can sometimes lie. Also try and find a Buddie. At the start of my weight lose journey I buddied up with a few other mums of the page. We would check in daily to see how each other were going. I honestly think this helped me a lot as I was being made accountable. Also just writing something on the Facebook page and having that little extra support also helps.I have learnt throughout my time with lbw never to give up. We are all human and we do slip up here and there and it’s ok. Don’t let one slip up affect the rest of your journey just pick yourself up and keep going.
