Motivating Mum Ashleigh Sobey has lost an incredible 22kgs following the Lose Baby Weight Plans and shares her simple steps for success.
Hello ladies
I can’t believe how fast March is flying by. We are loving all the new recipes for the 28 Day Challenge. Especially the yummy dessert of Mini Berry “Cheesecakes”, they are delicious. Other than that I have been experimenting with the Healthy Mummy Smoothies. I’m now buying berries from the local fruit and vegetable shop and cutting them up and freezing them. It feels great to be giving money to the local farmers instead of overseas.
To date I have now lost over 22kg since starting with Lose Baby Weight’s Plans and 28 Day Challenges. Back in September I never thought I would be where I am now in a short six months. I have a ‘no scale’ rule this month so I’m looking forward to seeing my results for the entire challenge at the end. I’m getting so close to my goal and I don’t want to let the scales dictate my mood this month. Fingers crossed I will be very pleased at the end of the challenge.
I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you how I have taken a No Excuses policy this month. We can always find reasons why we don’t have time to prepare healthy meals or fit in a quick workout. I have been there. Everytime I hear myself find an excuse like ‘my baby won’t be put down’ or ‘it’s too hot outside’, I stop and think of how I can make it work. I put my baby in a rocker or on the mat while I make funny faces through a workout. I go for early morning or late afternoon walks when it isn’t as hot, and take a bottle of water. I know that I want a happy healthy lifestyle. Sometimes when you want something bad enough, you have to work for it.
So join me and check your excuses at the door. Fit in that 15 minute section of the Healthy Mummy Exercise DVD when you can. Bake delicious treats for snacks while your baby sleeps (in its bed or in your arms). Ask for help looking after the kids while you run around your neighbourhood. You won’t regret it.
Most importantly, if you have an off day and don’t meet all your goals… don’t give up. Just start again tomorrow. Be kind to yourself. This is your journey.
The other thing I wanted to share with you is that I am learning this month to be aware of everything that goes in my mouth. I’m learning to read food labels and ingredient lists. Firstly I look at the energy in the food… how many calories the food will cost me. Secondly I look at where the calories are coming from (protein, carbs and fat) and the grams of sugar per serve. Then I look at the sodium levels as well.
Just these simple steps have seen me understanding my foods better. This allows me to make healthier choices. Did you know that a premade caesar salad from the supermarket averages 1000mg of sodium in a 290g serve. Before joining Lose Baby Weight I would have thought this was a healthy option. By reading the labels of our foods we can take more control of the foods we eat.
Educate yourself.
There are also plenty of blogs and articles on the Lose Baby Weight website that detail the nutrition of the food on the plans.
Thank you again for allowing me to share my weight loss journey as one of your Motivating Mums in March. I’m so proud to be where I am now. I’m counting down to my wedding and working hard to have the body I have always wanted. I couldn’t have done any of it without the Facebook Support Page.
Enjoy the rest of the challenge. I cannot wait to see what comes next.
