Hi my names Laura and I’m one of your April motivating mums.
A few months after the birth of my son I found lose baby weight and lost 34 kgs* in 10 months. I went on to fall pregnant with my daughter and at 7 months postpartum returned to my pre pregnancy weight.

Over the past two years following lose baby weight I have changed my unhealthy, toxic relationship with food.
Food was my coping mechanism and it had become a vicious cycle.
The food I was eating was making me tired and being tired made me crave the unhealthy food.
I was a mouse on a running wheel, going round and round in circles but not getting anywhere. All that changed when I found lose baby weight. For the first time in my life healthy food tasted yummy, I was never hungry and there were healthy alternatives to the junk I so badly loved and craved.
As I started eating better I had more energy and wanted to exercise and before I knew it energy was breeding energy.
I wasn’t lethargic any more (except for the standard sleep deprivation). I finally understood the relationship between healthy food, moving your body and feeling good and energetic, it was something I’d always longed for but never been able to reach.
I’m no saint, last night for dessert I had blueberries, icecream, rice bubbles and milo but it’s a rare treat and not a lifestyle of bad habits.
Sometimes all it takes is a few amazing healthy recipes to make you step off that running wheel of negative habits and before you know it you’re taking strides, moving forward and getting all this life has to offer.
