Hi! My name is Kristy and I am thrilled to be a Lose Baby Weight motivating mum for February! I am looking forward to a massive month ahead and can’t wait to share it all with you.
I am mum to a 5 month old and 2 ½ year old. I have spent the last 5 months at home with my beautiful little ones and have now just started back at work 2 days a week. So my life has become incredibly busy!
I gained a LOT of weight with my first pregnancy and was so disappointed that breast feeding did not just make the weight fall off! I lost a little bit of weight in the first 6 months, but then stagnated and spent the next 12 months feeling miserable and unhappy within myself.
When my daughter was about 2, I did eventually lose all the weight and felt fantastic! I wondered why I had not done it sooner. Within weeks I was pregnant with bub #2 and vowed not to put on nearly as much weight this time. Unfortunately my hormones had other ideas and I gained even more than the first time- 25kg. I was 70kg when I fell pregnant and weighed 93kg when I came home with my baby. I was determined not to get down about it though and wanted to get right on and start losing the weight straight away, so that I could be happy within myself and enjoy my babies with energy and vitality!
Like so many, I was concerned about losing a lot of weight whilst breast feeding so I did my research. I already had quite a lot of knowledge regarding nutrition and exercise, so I knew what to do, I was just struggling with making time to prioritise myself and do all the meal preparation that I used to do, pre children. I seemed to revert to quick high carb low protein options like a white bread cheese sandwich!
When I found the Lose Baby Weight Healthy Mummy Smoothies I was initially hesitant about a meal replacement type of plan, and was sure I would be hungry, but after reading the great reviews and especially hearing the positive effects on milk supply, I thought I could try them for a few weeks just to kick start things. I have loved them so much that I intend continuing on the plan until I reach my goal weight, which I aim to do by the end of March.
So far, I have lost 13kg with the help of the Lose Baby Weight program, and have 7kg to go!
I have found it SO easy to stick to the plan, I feel satisfied and am never hungry, and my milk supply is better than ever. I usually add berries, banana, or mango, and yoghurt to the smoothies, and they are thick, filling, and delicious. I find them so convenient wen I am busy juggling 2 children, or rushing off to work.
It feels so good to get out walking again, and my plan for February is to up the intensity and frequency on my exercise, and start weight training 2 days per week as well.
Our babies are our number 1 priority, but it is also important that we mums give ourselves the attention we need to feel their best, which in turn makes us better mums! I am enjoying this process and so looking forward to reaching my goal and being the best version of myself
