By the time I was 40 weeks pregnant, I had gained over 25kg in pregnancy weight!
My beautiful daughter Maisie was born 10 days later and my weight was the last thing on my mind.
I didn’t hop on the scales until Maisie was a month old, and to my horror I’d only lost 4kg. Maisie weighed 4.3kg at birth, so I’d actually gained weight post pregnancy!
Although I was loving being a mum, I knew I needed to do something about my pregnancy weight because I didn’t want my daughter seeing me struggle with my size when she was older.
Breastfeeding makes me incredibly hungry, and I realised I had been
eating an enormous amount of junk food during the day to curb my
cravings.
Because I’m breastfeeding, I knew I couldn’t do anything
drastic, but I found it difficult preparing three healthy eating meals a day
while caring for a newborn.
I then found out about the “lose baby weight” program through my mother’s group and decided to give the healthy mummy smoothies a go.
I’ve been having a healthy mummy smoothie for breakfast and lunch for a month, and have lost almost 5kg.
I still have a little way to go to reach my pre-pregnancy weight but don’t think I’ll have any trouble reaching it with your yummy mummy smoothies 🙂
