Three months ago I started my weight loss journey at 155kg. I am now down to 123kg – a 32kg loss! I started my weight loss journey on the 23rd Feb and lost 15kg in the first month by eating a low calorie and low carb diet, plus using healthy mummy shakes.
On the 23rd of March I underwent vertical sleeve surgery, where ⅔ of my stomach was removed. I am now only able to eat about ¼ – ½ cup of food at a mealtime.
That said, I have transformed every area of my life. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week, I eat a clean, whole food and refined sugar-free diet, and still have 1-2 shakes a day.

The surgery has just been a tool. It is not a quick fix as it is only designed to help lose 40% of excess weight over 12 months. My surgeon’s goal was to have me 30kg down by 6 months, so I am a long way ahead of schedule!
The surgery does not stop emotional eating and so forth. I have done a lot of personal development to break the negative patterns that got me to being 75kg overweight. I now reach for things like essential oils or exercise to manage my emotions, rather than using food.
And The Healthy Mummy Support Group has been the most amazing source of inspiration and support!
