Hi ladies- Jodie here and I have lost 35kg with Lose Baby Weight and am one of your maintenance mums for July.

Winter is typically known as the season of staying indoors and eating mounds of comfort food, which can then lead to weight gain.
I am trying my absolute hardest this month to combat the ‘winter blues’ but I am feeling the cold so much more this year than last year – I think being 35kgs lighter has done it!
Central Victoria is enjoying some extremely cold weather at the moment and I can most definitely say that I am not a very happy mummy because of it.
best ways to lose weight
It has been so cold that I am having difficulty finding the motivation to get moving in the mornings – I just want to stay warm and cosy!
Combine the low temperatures with school holidays and my usual routine has been up in the air. My early morning walks are being postponed or not done at all so I have been finding ways to get moving inside the house.
I spent a whole day cooking and baking so I put the radio on instead of the usual TV which meant that I danced around my kitchen that entire time.
It was such a fun way to sneak in some exercise that it didn’t feel like working out at all – and it certainly got my heart rate up!
I have also been doing squats and lunges whilst folding the mountains of washing I always seem to have at this time of year.

Winter and school holidays can be a crazy mix so I have been trying to keep my three kids busy and active.
I surprised them with a day trip to Melbourne on the train where we walked all around the Melbourne Museum, caught trams, went sightseeing and then went ice skating.
We were pooped by the end of it all! I also dragged the family to the snow for a day of freezing fun.
We rugged up in thermal clothes, made snowmen and tired ourselves out by tobogganning and throwing snowballs.
Even though it was cold, running up the hills kept us all warm and I was surprised at how quickly I began to work up a sweat under all my layers. And of course, it was super fun and something they will never forget.

One thing I really have enjoyed about July so far has been being able to cook hearty meals.
Before Lose Baby Weight I would have made winter meals full of white pasta, butter and fat but luckily I’ve found some new favourites.
The Healthy Homemade Baked Beans are a wonderful alternative to the tinned variety and I love that they are freezable.
From the 28-Day Challenge I am loving the Beef Chutney Toasted Sandwich, my husband’s new favourite is the Bean & Bacon Soup and the kids couldn’t get enough of the Lamb Shanks with Parsnip Mash and Greens.
For the rest of the month I will be seriously focusing on my water intake.
With the chilly weather around I am finding it harder to meet my usual 3 litres of clear water. I’m drinking a lot of peppermint and green tea to help warm me up but I’m finding that by the afternoon I’m thirsty.
Time to start keeping a tally of my water so that I don’t dehydrate myself, something that is very easy to do in winter.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of July brings!
Jodie xx

It takes all the guess work of “what do i have for dinner” and fumbling around the fridge looking for ingredients before deciding on something “easy” (and usually not healthy!)
