This is probably the most asked question I get from my clients. How can I get rid of my belly fat? You can see lots of advice on losing stomach fat here too but below I look at a herb that may help with loose skin
So I had a client today who was trying to lean down as she is competing in a body ‘figure shaping’ competition. She was actually looking for diuretics to strip down and look as lean as possible.
During our conversation she had mentioned she is in her mid 40’s, has 3 children and now has a flat tummy. I assumed she must have has a tummy tuck or some type of liposuction to get her looking that good that she’d get up on stage and show her stuff.
But then a bombshell. She’s had no surgery!
She let me in on her secret which is easily accessible, cheap and guess what, it’s NATURAL!
The natural therapy she used is called Gotu Kola.
I was like wow this must be some huge secret that the fitness and body shaping community are keeping to themselves! But then I started to do a bit of research and here’s what I found.
Gotu kola is a herb, also known as Centella asiatica. It’s been used for thousands of years in India, China, and Indonesia. It was used to heal wounds, improve mental clarity, and treat skin conditions. It is also used for it’s anti-aging properties, and in China has been called “the fountain of life” as legend has it that an ancient Chinese herbalist lived for more than 200 years as a result of taking Gotu Kola.
It contains active ingredients called ‘triterpenoids’ which are said to strengthen the skin, boost antioxidants in wounds, and increase blood supply.
So in summary, this ancient herb will improve blood flow to the belly area where the skin in loose, will help tighten the skin and improve skin tone. It will take roughly 3-6 months – well worth the wait and a lot cheaper than surgery!
The therapeutic dosage is about 4 capsules a day depending on the strength and costs around $22.95 for 100 caps in most ranges
Ok so all in all, I generally do not believe in any ‘magic pill’ to melt fat or skin away, so this may not work for everyone.
