For a no-added-sugar Valentine’s Day indulgence, why not try out these moorish chocolate truffles?
A classic truffle recipe would call for chocolate, cream and butter – but this healthy eating recipe gets its sweetness from the dates and honey instead.
A sweet little healthy eating treat to make for your Valentine…or for yourself!

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup hazelnuts
  • 1 cup of pitted fresh dates
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tbsp good quality cocoa powder (or try cacao) + extra for dusting
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp LSA
  • 1 tsp nut butter (we like almond or peanut)
  • 1 tbsp honey

Method:

  • Place everything into a food processor and blend, blend, blend for 4-5 minutes.
  • The dough will become sticky so prepare to get your hands dirty.
  • Use slightly wet hands to carefully roll the mixture into balls.
  • Sprinkle the balls with the extra cocoa powder and refrigerate overnight to set.

Makes: 12. Calories per ball: 180.
