Green Goddess Dip is one of those classic recipes that has its place in many good cookbooks, with as many variations.
Today we have greenified the recipe by adding some avocado and fresh watercress.
We’ve also lightened it up considerably for those of us trying to lose weight, by replacing the usual mayo or sour cream with our old favourite – yoghurt.

Ingredients:
- 2 tsp olive oil
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled and de-seeded
- 1 cup natural or Greek yoghurt
- ½ cup parsley leaves
- ½ cup basil leaves
- 2 shallots, trimmed
- 1 bunch watercress
- ¼ lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp minced garlic
Method:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Serve with your favourite dippers – we love carrot sticks, celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, red capsicum strips, raw broccoli or cauliflower florets, or lightly steamed zucchini batons.
Serves: 6. Calories per serve 85.
