Here is a great recipe for dairy and sugar free chocolate chips from Janet Cook so you have a healthier alternative when cooking with chocolate or when looking for a healthy sweet snack.

Many healthy recipes use dark chocolate chips for added flavour but dairy and sugar free chocolate may not always be the easiest thing to find. This is a simple recipe that is ready in minutes and is so versatile! The chocolate can be chopped to make chocolate chips, or left intact to make individual chocolates.
lose baby weightStevia may be swapped for 1-2 teaspoons rice malt syrup or pure maple syrup. Additional flavouring such as nuts or dried fruit may be sprinkled on top before putting in the fridge.

Ingredients

  • 25g raw cacao butter
  • 10 -15 drops pure liquid stevia, to taste (or 2-3 tsp of your preferred natural sweetener)
  • 1/8 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. raw cacao powder

Method

  • Gently melt cacao butter over a low heat. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Pour evenly into 3 silicon muffin molds (or in regular muffin molds with a strip of baking paper placed across the bottom to allow for easy removal)
  • Refrigerate until set. Chop for chocolate chips or remove intact for individual chocolates.

Makes 3 chocolates (or 1/3 cup choc chips)
