Potato crisps are a favourite food of many people, but unfortunately since they offer no nutritional value and are loaded with calories, salt, and preservatives, aren’t suitable to be included in weight loss plans.
Luckily there are alternatives available for women who want to lose pregnancy weight, but don’t want to give up their savoury snacks.
This super simple recipe for Crunchy Parmesan Kale Chips provides a more nutritious savoury snacking option perfect for kids birthday parties, movie nights, or when having friends over.
Using only three ingredients, these kale chips can be made quickly, with little fuss, making them a winner for busy mothers!

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of fresh kale
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 40 grams shaved parmesan

Optional Extras:

  • Scatter some fresh, chopped chilli or dried chilli flakes on top for a spicy addition.
  • Bake the chips without the parmesan and use a light coating of natural sea salt instead.

Method:

  • Preheat your oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
  • Remove the stalks of the kale and tear each leaf into small-medium sized pieces.
  • Place the kale into a large bowl and drizzle olive oil over the top, and combine so that all the leaves are covered with oil.
  • Place the leaves on a flat baking tray lined with baking paper. Ensure that the leaves are flattened out and in a single layer.
  • Bake for 6 minutes, then turn the chips and bake for another 6 minutes on the other side.
  • Sprinkle chips evenly with half the cheese; turn. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for another 2 minutes. Be careful to watch the time and temperature, as these delicate chips can burn very easily.
  • Remove from the oven and serve warm, or at room temperature.
