My name is Chantel and I am 20 years old. My daughter was born in September last year.
I had a terrible pregnancy and I was in hospital for a lot of it. I was not able to do much exercise due to pain in my ribs.
I am a swimmer and I continued swimming until I was about 3 months pregnant, but then had to stop due to the pain.
This piled my weight on so quickly. Between having a growing baby inside me and stopping the swimming training that I had done all my life, I expanded by the second.
By the end of my pregnancy I was nearly 90 kg. I had put on over 20 kgs in just 7 months.
My partner proposed to me on New Year’s Eve and it was at that second that I decided I was not going to be overweight at my wedding.
I saw the Lose Baby Weight page on facebook and decided to give it a go.
I lost weight within the first week of following the Lose Baby Weight plan and I followed the plan step by step.
Most of the other diets I had tried I had given up after a week because I did not see great results.
But to see that I had lost a couple of kg in such a short time motivated me to keep going to see if I could lose more.
It was like a competition with myself… I was so stunned about losing 2kg in one week that I just had to keep going.
I was one of the fussiest eaters in the world’s history. My in-laws-to-be were scared to cook for me, as they knew I didn’t like much.
Now that I have the Lose Baby Weight facebook page every night there is something new that I want to try.
I have tried so many new foods, and I can’t believe how much of a change it has had to my energy and my moods.
I still have 1 cheat day a week. So on a Sunday I can eat whatever I want.
All week I think to myself ‘If I wait until Sunday then I can eat it and not feel bad about it, I can enjoy it.’ If I have bad food during the week I will know in my head it is the wrong thing to do.
So that cheat day is what gets me through the week.
With only a few kgs left until I am at my goal weight I am so excited to jump on the scales every day and watch those numbers slowly disappear. I have now lost 16kg and I am very happy!
