“Hi everyone. My name is Carmen Chong Nee and Im a stay at home mum to 3 extremely beautiful children. Marley (4), Marcus (2) and Maiya (14months).
Over the past 5 years since having kids I have steadily gained a significant amount of weight, despite having 3 kids I would say a bulk of it was actually put on AFTER having my first child where I’m pretty sure I had undiagnosed PND.
With my 2nd I was diagnosed with PND and I got into some incredibly bad habits using food for comfort, boredom, laziness any excuse to eat and I ate and not in small amounts of it either.
I also got myself into a bad habit of staying up way way too late which only aided my bad food choices the following day due to incredible sleep deprivation and exhaustion, always reaching for the most conveninent (which would always go hand in hand with the most unhealthy option).
I tried going vegan and lost 14kgs before faling pregnant with my 3rd, and noticed a huge difference in my mood and and overall happiness but vegan was not the road for me as my iron levels dropped too low.
I felt my old habits creeping back after having baby #3 and put back on all the weight Id lost plus more.
Then I found the Lose Baby Weight website in June 2014 (I weighed 111.6kg at the time) and signed up for their daily newsletters which were such a wealth of helpful information.
I was still extremely tired so just started making small changes, the first of which was to make sure I went to bed at 9.30pm and got adequate sleep. People often overlook this important factor on their weightloss journey but it made such an amazing difference and
I still notice now if I go to bed late my food choices are far more likely to be less than satisfactory. I then started incorporating recipes for our dinners and snacks from the website.
I wasnt ready to cut out junk completely I went by the rule of “adding in”, where if I wanted to have a chocolate bar , I’d have a carrot to, or if I had fish n chips, I made sure i had a salad aswell.
This was a way to baby step into it all for me as I found when I told my self I couldnt have something, thats all Id want to eat and Id go eat ALOT of whatever it was telling myself Id start my diet “tomorrow” after Id eaten whatever it was I was craving.

Joined the 28 Day Challenge

This was a vicious cycle Id go through and I found the adding in method alot more I incorporated the healthy options the less Id crave the bad stuff. Making these small changes had me lose 2.4kg over 2months and in August 2014 I joined the 28 Day weight loss challenge

I absolutely love the 28 day challenges. The food is freaking DELICIOUS, I feel like im eating at a cafe everyday and best of all, because its designed for mums they are super quick and easy to prepare.
Im one of those mums who never makes separate meals for anyone and Im glad to say there hasnt been many meals my hubby and kids havent gladly eaten.

The 28 day challenge exercise programs are nothing short of awesome aswell and super quick to knock out and require very little equipment. The challenges mean all your meal plans and shopping lists are alreasy sorted for you and because Rhian and her team are so dedicated to looking after their customers they responded to feed back and made the challenges completely customisable too so if theres a recipe you think you wont like you can easily swap it out.
I personally enjoy the variety and have been trying to commit to trying new things so mostly leave it as is.smoothie
I also purchased the Healthy Mummy Smoothies, I mostly like to stick to the meal plans because I feel this is teaching me a healthy sustainable way to fuel my body eating real food, but the smoothies are an awesome thiong to have on hand when Im just completely time poor, I know I can still ensure my bodies getting tonne of nutrition and everything it needs until my next meal.
We are all human and Ive recently had a bit of a bad run since moving late December. I havent been as motivated and havent been participating in the January challenge at 100%. But Im now ready to give 110% so Im sending this story in to help myself be accountable to get back on the wagon and smashing it out like I know I can.
Im back down to 97kg (as seen in after photo). I know I still have a long way to go but with Lose Baby Weight I know that I can do it.
I look forward to sharing my progress with you all.
