Hi my name is Ashleigh and I’m very honoured to be chosen as one of the Motivating Mums for February.  I am 27 and proud mum to two little boys under two.  I’m determined that 2015 will be my best year yet.  I am marrying the love of my life in May and I want to look and feel the absolute best on the day.
A little about me: Returning from an extended holiday in 2012, I was shocked to see I was 93kg, my highest ever.  I felt fat and horrible.  I worked my butt off and lost over 20 kilos in the 6 months that followed.  Enter baby number one.  While I was pregnant I again let myself go; ate whatever I wanted and basically stuck to the couch.  Then came baby number two.
With no recovery time between babies, I didn’t get to lose the weight I gained with the first pregnancy.  I just continued to use it as an excuse to gain more and more weight.  After two pregnancies piled on top of one another, I found myself back to where I started years before… at 92kg.  I didn’t know what I was going to do this time… with the added obstacles that lay infront of me.  I have no time to myself, I am a mum.  It seemed hopeless… Enter “Lose Baby Weight”.
I found this Support Group on Facebook while looking for something else entirely.  I jumped straight onto the Lose Baby Weight site and within minutes knew I had found my lifeline, and signed up for my first online challenge in September.

I love how you can customise to suit your families taste and budget.  I like to swap in a Healthy Mummy Smoothie for breakfast on days where we have very little time (most days). It’s great that you are provided exercises to do, plus they can all be done at home without a gym membership. Sweat it out to the Healthy Mummy Exercise DVD. It’s a great workout.
Like many other mums, I have had issues with my weight back from my teenage years.  I have tried all of the fad diets, yet, I’m so proud to say I will never have to diet again. This has been a wonderful journey where I have learned to cook.  In fact, I love to cook, especially delicious recipes from the Guilt Free Chocolate Treats & Baking Cookbook!
One of the biggest things I have learned so far is to be prepared.  I try to shop only once a week, with list in hand. This has also saved us a load of money. I like to cut up a lot of our food when I get home and am finally making use of that deep freezer downstairs that has been gathering dust.  I have my progress photos on a motivation board on the wall, which I can see while sitting on the couch.  This gets me moving and out the door with the double stroller.
Five months into my love affair with Lose Baby Weight, I’m 18 kilos down and still going strong.  I now fit into my wedding dress ready for the big day.  Best of all, I’m inspired everyday by all of those wonderful mums giving it their best. I love playing with my babies down the beach.  I love knowing that they will grow up with a healthy mum who loves herself and never gives up.
I’m so excited to start February.  It may be the shortest month but I plan to make it the greatest.
