Hi All! I am so proud to say that I have now lost 17.5kg with Lose Baby Weight and today I am sharing an update with you all.

My biggest question lately…What do you do when the scales don’t move for you?
The answer, I’ve discovered, is to use other methods of measuring your success on this journey towards a healthy and fit lifestyle.  I am defined by a lot of things in life, but I refuse to be defined or base my happiness on the number that appears on my scales.
From the May Belly Buster Challenge to now I have lost…wait for it…ONE WHOLE KILOGRAM! I know, not very motivating or inspiring right? But instead of focussing on what I’ve lost I’m enjoying looking at what I have gained since committing to this healthy lifestyle.

Self – confidence

This is massive for me and, quite possibly, my biggest win of all on this journey. It’s the little things…wearing exercise tights in public, putting some lipstick on just because, buying clothes I never would’ve worn in a million years before and not walking around feeling foolish and wondering what everyone is thinking.

The last time I was this fit was when I was in high school. My friends look at me like I’m a bit crazy when I tell them I ran 10km on the weekend. They ask me ‘why?’ and I tell them because it makes me feel good and I’m proud of what my body can do.


I’ve talked about this a lot but, honestly, self-confidence and fitness for me have equalled happiness. And happiness has changed the type of mum and wife I am to my husband and children.  It means the world to me that I am confident and fit enough to be a happy, healthy, FUN mum. I’m not as short tempered as I used to be. Not as lazy and lethargic. Not living off ridiculously unhealthy food.
So if you’re stressing over the fact that the number on your scales isn’t moving, stop. Think about what you’ve gained instead. Be proud and use it as your motivation to keep going!
