‘Hi Lose Baby Weight team, I wanted to share my weight loss story after being on your post baby weight plans….
My pregnancy started off wonderfully. I had no morning sickness and was feeling great. By 12 weeks I had put on 5 kg, which I thought was ok considering it was a few weeks post wedding and honeymoon. By 20 weeks it had crept up to 10 kg but I still felt really good and could still get out walking almost every day.
At 26 weeks however, my blood pressure had sky rocketed and I noticed my fingers and face a started to swell. I was on weekly monitoring for pre-eclampsia and the swelling got worse and worse. It didn’t help that at this time my Grandmother and my best friend’s Mum (who was like my 2nd mum) were diagnosed with cancer in the same week. My Husband also worked 2 hours away during the week, I only saw him on weekends, so I turned to chocolate and I could see myself getting bigger and bigger and I was too scared to jump on the scales.
My little boy was born at 36 weeks and spent a few days in the Special Care Nursery.  When he was 6 weeks old I finally got up the courage to jump on the scales and was still 20kg over my pre pregnancy weight.  After having a little cry I decided something needed to be done. A few girls in my mum’s group had talked about the Lose Baby Weight program.
I started the 28 day program and 10 days later I had lost 6kg. I then continued to lose 1-2kg a fortnight and when my son was 3.5 months I had lost 12kg.
I had a few bumps in the road since then. I had to have a knee reconstruction when my bubba was 3.5 months old, so I couldn’t exercise for awhile. This is when I started the Healthy Mummy Smoothies and I lost a further 2 kg. Sadly my grandmother passed away when he was 5 months old and that sent me into a spiral of eating bad food and sitting on the couch.
After a month or so of grieving I joined the gym and I haven’t looked back. I continued to lose the baby weight. It was slow but I did it. I lost over 20kg! Just after my sons first birthday I was back to pre-pregnancy weight.
Now he is 15 months old and I have kept off the weight and am toning those flabby bits. I still go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week. I am really getting into running again and hope to do a 10km run in the near future. I still love your healthy mummy smoothies for breakfast every morning and pick and choose recipes from your 28 day meal plan and the Lose Baby Weight website. There are weeks when I gain weight and weeks when I lose weight, but I try not to get disheartened as I know it’s just my body getting stronger.
