I began my first 28 challenge in June last year. I was completely overwhelmed and so excited to begin this new chapter in my life.

I was scared, scared to fail. I thought that this would be like every other diet that I had tried before.
What I quickly realised that this wasn’t just a diet but a lifestyle. I was learning to eat better and eventually getting used to a new exercise routine. Whist challenging some days, I have managed to keep on track. I love this new way of life.
The ultimate test was over the Christmas and New Year period. To be honest I became pretty anxious about slipping into some old routines but I was determined not to undo all of my hard work.
I was tempted a few times, but all in all I made good healthy choices and stuck to my exercise regime during my time off work. So I can happily report that it is business as usual here. Yay!
It’s back to work for me now though unfortunately, so back to my routine. Up at 5am to exercise for an hour or 2, leaving me just enough time to get ready and head out the door.
Thank god for the Healthy Mummy Smoothies. I whip one up just as I am heading out the door to enjoy in the car.
So quick, easy and filling. I really would be lost without them.
Another saving grace for my first week back at work was the 28 Day challenge meals. The first week of the January challenge was amazing! The food was simply delicious and so easy to prepare when I got home from work. Some highlights for me from that menu were:

  • Pork Cutlet with mushroom sauce
  • Southwest Chicken Salad
  • Sesame Chicken Pasta Salad
  • Easy Banana Cake

My family loved each of these as well. This is always a bonus! I am not the type of mum to cook two meals so being able to cook the one meal and keeping everyone happy is always my aim. The Lose Baby Weight 28 Day challenge meals never disappoint.
As I am moving closer towards my goal weight, I feel as though sometimes things are slowly starting to slow down. Some days it is hard not to be a little disheartened but I then take a few moments to look at far I have come, how confident I feel and how much happier I am within myself and I am quick to get up in the morning and keep on going.
I love to take a new comparison picture and remind myself of what I have achieved. The picture of me attached to this blog is a prime example. The first picture was taken in October 2015.
At this point I had already completed four 28 Day Challenges and had lost 16kgs. I was feeling pretty good. Since this picture was taken I have lost close to another 13kg’s!
It feels kind of weird, I remember feeling fantastic at that point, but I cringe when I look at that photo now. It’s funny how our perception of ourselves changes.
Not only pictures but taking measurements can also be a great tool to reflect on your progress. So far for me I have lost the following CM’s around my body:

  • Bust is down 18cm
  • Waist is down 27cm
  • Hips are down 22cm
  • Thighs are down 15cm
  • Arms are down 11cm

A whopping total of 93cm lost from around my body. It really is hard to imagine sometimes. This is such a great way to keep motivated when the scales aren’t always playing nicely. The results really speak for themselves.
I am so excited for what this New Year will bring. I am determined to get to my goal weight. I am so close to the 30kg loss mark.
I never dreamed, never in a million years that I would lose that much weight. I had always just resigned myself to the fact that I was going to the weight I was forever. Everything just seemed all too hard and my will power was nonexistent.
Through the support from this group I have been able to chip away at my goal and I am more than half way to reaching it. Although still far away, I can see the finishing line. Every day is getting easier.
My family and friends are super supportive and for that I am so grateful.
