Hi! My name is Alicia and I am one of your motivating mums for November. To date I have lost almost 20kgs with Lose Baby Weight and I couldn’t be happier!
I have two children. They are 13 and 4. I also work fulltime, so between the demands of a busy job and hectic family life I failed for a very long time at taking care of myself.
During my first pregnancy, I gained over 30kg. I lost all self confidence and will power to get back on track and get back to my pre-baby weight.
Between my first pregnancy and my second (9 years) I gained a further 12 kilos. Thankfully during my second pregnancy I gained minimal weight but by the time my daughter had turned 4 I had gained another 8kg. Sad but true.
So in total I had put on a staggering 50kg’s since I fell pregnant with my son in 2001. Disgraceful. Up until starting my Lose Baby Weight journey I had never admitted that to anyone. Not even my husband.
At the end of May this year, I signed up for the June 28 Day Challenge. I thought about it for days before I actually took the plunge and joined.

At this point I was depressed about my weight, ashamed about how I looked and my clothes were starting to become tighter and tighter. Something in my head said this is enough Alicia, it is time to focus on you and your health. Best decision that I have ever made.
I went into the challenge so excited. Excited to do the groceries and stock up on all the essentials that I needed. Excited to search through the recipe hub and actually have some direction on what to cook for dinner each night.
We struggled to come up with quick and easy meals to prepare for the family after work. Often resorting to the same unhealthy foods and quite often turning to takeaway just because it was easier. Not anymore!
Meal planning has been my saving grace. I make sure I have everything at home that I need to prepare each meal. Avoiding the mid week trips to the grocery store.
My husband I love trying out new Lose Baby Weight recipes. Our kids also enjoy the meals.
The meals are so good and a lot of them are quite simple and easy to prepare and we were actually shocked about the amount of food we can actually eat and still lose weight. It simply is amazing.
I signed up to my first 28 day challenge with one of my good friends, Bianca. She has been a tremendous support to me so far and it really is great to have someone to share the journey with.

Someone to talk about recipes we have tried. Someone to share my half naked before and after pics, weight loss updates and other victories with. Someone to go shopping with as we both lose weight and need new clothes.
Someone who meets me every day at 5.40am without fail to do at least a 6km walk. Without her, I don’t think I would of come this far. We certainly keep each other accountable.
My husband is also amazing. He too decided to come along for the Lose Baby Weight ride with me.
Earlier this year he was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnoea and was advised to lose at least 15kg.
To date he has lost 20Kgs and is almost at his goal weight. He is so encouraging. Filled with compliments about the changes not only physically in me but how me losing weight has also changed my confidence.
I have to say, I do feel more confident! I am so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing and supportive people; this includes the LBW facebook group. So many inspirational ladies.
I am almost at my 20kg loss milestone. I find that absolutely mind blowing. That’s almost 40% of the way to my ultimate goal.
I still have another 30kg to lose but I am well on my way to a much happier and healthier me.
I cannot thank Rhian and her team enough for not only the program itself but for the never ending support and encouragement.
I am so looking forward to tackling the November challenge with you all as we all near closer to our goals! Get out there ladies!
