Hi, I’m Alex. I’m mum of one, a step mum of 2 and a primary school teacher. I have lost 10kgs with Lose Baby Weight and am here to motivate you for the 100 days to summer countdown.
Our family life is very busy and we travel interstate every fortnight to pick up my partners children. I work long days, sometimes without a break and I’m at the beginning of my weight loss.
I started Lose Baby Weight about 18 months ago after a friend introduced me to the smoothies. I failed at it miserably! I failed three more times after this, I just was not ready to commit 100%; I didn’t think I was ever going to lose weight.
Two months ago I decided to start fresh. I had made up my mind to commit to myself 110%; it was time to get fit. This occurred because my mum had to have surgery but she wasn’t in the best shape which made things more complicated. I didn’t want this to be me in the future. I wanted to be able to run around after my daughter and not be out of breath. I wanted to be a healthy mum!
I joined Lose Baby Weight again and completed two challenges and had smoothies for breakfast every day. I also started exercising at any and every chance I got. I didn’t see the kilos dropping and became depressed but a lovely mum on the site told me to take measurements and not to worry about the scales… so I did and was amazed!
My measurements were down. My bust was down by 13.5 cm, waist by 19.5cm and hips by 18cm. It was working! Overall I had lost 10kgs since the day I started with most of them in the last two months.
I love the smoothies and have one every day for breakfast. I have favourites but I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and try new ones.
I use the challenge recipes and the free recipes for our meals. I pick what suits my family’s lifestyle, what we can afford and what we can maintain. I love that so many of the meals can be frozen and are so family friendly.
I am excited to help motivate and inspire any mums who have fallen off the bandwagon, are at the start of their weight loss journey and those who don’t know where to start. It is your time to start a new healthier lifestyle and I’m here to take the journey with you.
Remember, it won’t happen overnight but it will happen with hard work and determination!
My top five tips for getting ready for summer:
- Start exercise you can maintain and then build up
- Drink plenty of water!!
- Take measurements instead of using the scales
- Meal plan each week and get the whole family involved
- Set a goal and make it achievable
