Aimee has been following The Healthy Mummy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges since September and has learnt not only valuable lessons in nutrition with the healthy eating meal plans but more importantly learnt that despite the stresses and bumps in the road life brings us, that to keep going will still end in results to get you closer to your goals.
I started the Lose Baby Weight 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge in September (and lost 5kg) and while at first it was slow going. I was worried about past demons rearing their heads. However I very quickly found I needn’t worry as Lose Baby Weight was so easy to follow even as a single mum with back problems.
It wasn’t a fad diet, it was a lifestyle change and it was just simple changes like making myself more accountable. Also knowing the support I had from the forum where I could post progress shots, ask questions, have a rant or ask for a pick me up, made it even easier to follow.
November was a rough month for myself with new health issues for myself and my daughter. I noticed the scales weren’t moving much but rather then get myself down about it and drown myself in chocolate goodness, I instead maintained my progress and focused more on my core strength.
I honestly debated whether I should post any progress pictures but a couple of ladies from the forum messaged me and asked how my journey was going and I made the decision that even though I didn’t make as much progress as previously, it is still a part of my journey and I’m an everyday mum making better choices for herself and her family.
While I am not yet where I want to be I am well on my way. I hold myself accountable for all that I am and all that I do. I have a new found appreciation and respect for my body. While not perfect by any means, my body grew and homed two beautiful babies in less then two years.
Which is why I choose.. to live by choice, not by chance; to make changes, not excuses; to be useful, not used; to excel, not compete; I choose SELF-ESTEEM, not self pity; I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinion of others.
Success is not final
Failure is not fatal
It is the courage to CONTINUE that counts.
