I’ve been keeping track of my (somewhat half hearted) weight loss attempts since January 1st this year, and in the last 9 months I’ve only lost 5kg.
Almost three weeks ago I started on the Lose Baby Weight smoothies and so far I’ve lost 2.5kg which I am thrilled about.
I still have a long way to get to my goal weight (I’m rather embarrassed to admit 26.5kg!) but I’ve been having so much fun with the Lose Baby Weight program and I am so motivated by the daily Facebook posts and emailed information that this time I actually think it’s achievable!
With the September pedometer freebie, I’ve increased my walks from approximately 1600 steps to at least 3000 if I’m feeling a bit tired, or up to 8000 if I’m working hard!
Just knowing how many steps I’ve taken and having a goal of 10,000 has given me incentive to push myself so much more and I am now taking big walks 4 days of the week, where before I might have done a short walk once or twice a week if I was lucky
The profile dashboard on the website members/tracking area is also a fantastic motivation, I try to update it at least once a week and I love that it keeps track of not just weight, but measurements, exercise and steps as well.
I love seeing my progress in the graphs and that little green arrow pointing down to the number of kg I’ve lost 🙂
The other thing I’ve learned to do is stop and think before I eat. I have an awfully big sweet tooth and this is my biggest down fall. I am learning to have portion controlled treats; 30g of dark chocolate as opposed to half a block of Cadbury milk chocolate, a small skinny latte rather than a hot chocolate and a piece of cake, or a skinny banana milk shake (ice, banana, skim milk, honey, vanilla and nutmeg) rather than a big bowl of ice cream.
And these treats mean that I’m not struggling with my overall eating, as from experience I know without my treats I am likely to just pack it all in.
As I said, I’ve got a long way to go but I’ve never had so much fun with a ‘diet’ before and I look forward to sending in an email in the future entitled “I’ve just reached my goal weight!!”. Thanks to the Lose Baby Weight team for such a great supportive program!
