Hi my name is Laura and I’m a Healthy Mummy Motivating Mum. I have been using the Healthy Mummy plans since late December last year and in that time have lost 34 kilos and my husband 24, it really is the program that changed our lives.
The last time I wrote was just before my son’s 1st birthday and I was celebrating how much had changed in a year. I also ate a lot of cake. And chips. And chocolate. You could safely say that I lost the plot for a good 2 weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I was still exercising, having my Healthy Mummy Smoothies for breakfast and eating mostly good main meals but boy having all that temptation in the house was too much for me and I went to town!!!
It may be said that I have been depriving myself of these foods and that is why I went silly on the junk but that could not be more wrong. I have learned that I have no self-control when it comes to food that is high in sugar, fat and is processed so it is a rule that I don’t buy it and keep it in the house.
Instead I chose to eat and buy good foods that are high in fibre, protein and have nutritional benefit, so pretty much a diet that is exclusively Healthy Mummy recipes.  If you know what your weakness is don’t let it control you, do whatever it is you need to do to stay away from it and instead choose health, your body will thank you for it.
Speaking of health I am currently embarking on a toning mission. I am taking my focus away from the scales and onto the centimetres. After losing the amount of weight that I have lost, in the time I have lost it, I know that there are going to be points where the scales seem to stay in the one place and I’m all good with that but my body transformation is not yet complete and I’m still focused on my long term goal.
The Healthy Mummy DVD is perfect for all things toning and core as well as some new hills based workouts on my exercise bike, Pilates and the incidental exercise I’m getting with my non sleeping baby at night.

The non- sleeping baby… haven’t we all been there, the best ever excuse to have a day nap and skip that workout… NO!!!!! It’s just not true, the exercise will make you feel better and give you more energy to deal with your little munchkin. There is always going to be an excuse not to exercise and eat healthy but I don’t buy any of it; if you want it, make it happen!
Get creative with exercise, use your kids as weights, plan your meals so you don’t need to eat takeaway, read one of the many articles on the Lose Baby Weight website to help find your motivation, stop saying why you can’t and instead focus on why you can. I was that person who had all the excuses and all I got was a bucket load bigger than I should have been, life is so much better when you dig deep and find a way.
