Motivating  mum Jackie Thomas has been inspiring us all with her amazing transformation from using the Lose Baby Weight plans and 28 Day Weightloss Challenges. Today she is sharing her top weightloss tips.
“Hi, my name is Jackie.  I’m a single, working, studying Mum of a cheeky little 2 and a bit year old.  I’ve been using Lose Baby Weight plans and products since July 2014 and have lost 23kg in this time.  I’ve gone from 80kg to 57kg, size 18 to 8-10 and feel amazing!

My Lose Baby Weight journey started by chance when my son was 18 months old.  I was desperately unhappy within myself and my weight was the main cause of my sadness.  I was experiencing everything that came along with it…feeling tired, lethargic, bloated, self-conscious, unmotivated, cranky, anxious…just HEAVY.  I’d put on an incredible amount of weight during my pregnancy and rather than lose weight, I’d continued to get bigger.
Then one day I found a Lose Baby Weight post on my facebook news feed.  I looked into it and decided this was the program for me.  I joined the amazing facebook support group and the inspiration I found there was incredible.  I ordered a starter pack with Healthy Mummy Smoothies, the exercise dvd and 28 day book and got into it.  My starting point was to clear out my kitchen of empty calorie, processed, artificial foods (this was a very liberating experience for me).  I made a mental commitment to myself that this was it; it was time to get my life back, time to make my health my priority, for my own sanity and for the wellbeing of my son.
I joined the July 28 Day Weightloss Challenge.  This was a fabulous tool for me.  Prescribed exercises, nutritionally designed meal plans, easy to prepare meals and the knowledge that thousands of other women were doing the same thing at the same time.

Fast forward to now and I am a different person.  That sad, tired and cranky person has gone.  I’m now healthy, confident, energetic and most importantly, super happy!  I love exercise, I love preparing healthy food for myself and my son.  I love myself (it’s been a LONG time since I could say that)!
I’ve used the full range of lose baby weight products on my journey; the smoothies, recipe books, calorie bible, exercise dvd, free recipes, blog’s, 28 day weightloss challenges…I love it all.  The support for women from the team is what I feel makes this different from any other plan out there.  They are honestly in the game of making Mum’s and families healthy, continually evolving to suit OUR needs.
So to finish off I just want to share with you a few of the lessons/tips I have learnt along the way.

  • Plan, plan, plan.  Plan your meals, plan your exercise, plan to have a well stocked kitchen.
  • Commit to your health.  I mean really commit.  No maybes or might’s or I should’ves.  You won’t get anywhere with maybe’s.
  • Ignore the scales.  They lie.  Take progress pics, measurements, go by the feel or your clothes, go by your fitness levels, whatever…just don’t be defined by a number on the scales.
  • Drink water.  Lots of it.
  • Be kind to yourself.  No beating yourself up.
  • Challenge yourself.  Whatever it is; new food, new exercise, bright lipstick, a fun run.  You may very well surprise yourself.
  • Learn from your mistakes, if you have a bad meal, day, week etc.  Use it as a lesson, and move on.  Tomorrow is a new day.
  • Move your body.  However and whenever you can.  Walk, run, dance, squat, ride, swim, box…whatever takes your fancy.  Find something you enjoy.
  • Get and keep some perspective.  One bad meal won’t make you fat or undo all your hard work, in the same way one salad won’t make you slim.  This is a new healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life.
  • Treat yourself for your awesomeness…NOT with food.  New workout gear is my weakness J, find yours and splurge a little.
  • Lastly and most importantly…NEVER GIVE UP and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!  You can do it, you deserve happiness.
