Lose Baby Weight- Healthy 'Baklava'

Ingredients

  • 125g sultanas
  • 60g walnuts
  • 1/2 cup rice malt syrup
  • 8 sheets of fillo pastry
  • 2 tsps ground cinnamon
  • Olive oil spray

resultsMethod

  • Preheat oven to 190 C
  • Cut walnuts into smaller bits & place on a tray lined with baking paper and cook for 5 mins or until golden (you will be able to smell them!).
  • Let the walnuts cool.
  • Turn the oven down to 175 C.
  • Place sultanas & cooled walnuts into a bowl and mix.
  • Spread out 2 sheets of fillo pastry & lightly spray with the oil. Place another 2 sheets of pastry on top & spray with the oil.  Continue with the rest of the sheets, only spraying every 2nd sheet.
  • Spread out sultana & walnut mix leaving a 2 cm gap along the edges all around.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon & pour the syrup over evenly.
  • Roll up the pastry from the long side. Cut slits into the top (to let the steam out when cooking) every 2 cms. There should be 12 serves. Spray the top lightly with the oil.
  • Bake in oven for 20-25 mins.
  • Enjoy!
